Winter - Into Darkness

Unique (yet heavily influenced by Celtic Frost) death doom from the US. Very happy to have seen them at Roadburn. Three people mesmerised the main stage with zero gimmicks.

The boxset reissue on Svart is pretty nice.

Erkki Kurennieme & Circle - Rakkaus tulessa

Circle is a personal favourite and the most represented band in my collection with over 50 items (LP’s, 7”es, CD’s and tapes).

Often weird, (almost) always great.

Gehenna - Malice

This may be my favourite Gehenna record for the simple reason it was the only one I owned (on promo cd) back in the day and it isn’t on Spotify.

It’s the first time I’m spinning it on vinyl and it sounds amazing!

Lhaäd - Below / Beneath / Beyond trilogy

I completed my Lhaäd collection this week.
Babylon Doom Cult Records had the honour to release the first album, Below, together with Extraconscious Records.

We had a deal with Lykormas for Beneath but pulled the plug from the label before it was released. Luckily Amor Fati stepped up to give Lhaäd a new home.

Now, the trilogy is finished. Three amazing records of Hadopelagic Black Metal. Dense, suffocating, pounding, melodic black metal with nods to industrial in sound and rhythm.

In 2 days Lhaäd's 3rd album "Beyond" will be released on Amor Fati Productions (EU) and Extraconscious Records (US). Updated https://thenoxentity.bandcamp.com with a few CDs from Lhaäd's debut "Beyond", released on Babylon Doom Cult Records. There's also one very last copy available of "Beneath".

Also all 3 full albums of Rituals of the Dead Hand are restocked on CD. Just a very low quantity of each.

Shagor - Lyksalver

Great followup to an already stunning debut album.
The music has some aggressiveness to it while being atmospheric at the same time. Clean vocals add a triumphant feel to it. Recommended!

Coil - Horse Rotorvator

My second favourite Coil album. It’s a pretty safe bet to put The Ape Of Naples on the first spot.

Don’t be fooled, this album is amazing with tracks as The A**l Staircase, Slur, Ostia and The First Five Minutes After Death to name just a few.

Pretty addicted to this one the last few days.
The debut album was very good, this one is even better.

Pretty melodic black metal with folk influences (no hoempa hoempa). The biggest influence is obviously Windir. At some points, I also hear bombastic power metal reminiscent of Sigh.

Nice job Daniël Broek and Alburnum!
