CARPE NOCTUM
Leeds' goth superclub Carpe Noctum - the longest-running and arguably most successful night of its kind in the north - has announced that it will be reducing its scheduled events in 2026 and changing from a monthly to a bi-monthly format. The new schedule will begin on February 7th, 2026, with the club taking place on the first Saturdays of alternate months thereafter.

In a statement, the event said: “We very much want Carpe to continue as a must-attend, flagship event, which means adapting to the shifting environment. After much thought and discussion, we've made the difficult decision to halve the number of nights we run next year. This, we feel, will allow more space to make each of our nights that little bit more special, and for other events to grow and thrive, enriching the scene.”

The news comes amidst an increasingly hectic festival and event schedule in the Goth scene in Yorkshire, and across the UK more generally.

THE MISSION
UK goth-rock stalwarts The Mission have announced the cancellation or postponement of the US and UK dates so far announced for 2025 due to medical issues. The band, who celebrate their 40th anniversary shows next year, were due to support The Psychedlic Furs on their US tour as well as performing their own warm-up shows under their 'Blood Brothers' alter ego in August.

A statement from the band said: "It is with immense regret that we have to announce our forthcoming tour of North America, both with The Psychedelic Furs and our own shows, has been cancelled due to a previously unforeseen medical issue with a member of the band that requires intense treatment and a lengthy period of recuperation.

It goes without saying that this is not the news that any of the band wished to deliver and we are all profoundly disappointed not to be able to go ahead with a run of shows we were very much looking forward to. That said, health is not something to be compromised and must always come first and as such all that we can offer is our profuse apologies, and genuine gratitude for your understanding and ongoing support.

The shows where we were scheduled to support The Psychedelic Furs will go ahead with our good friends The Chameleons taking our place. For our own scheduled headline shows refunds will be issued from point of purchase.

And sadly we also have to postpone our two UK Hebden Bridge shows in August although we do hope to be able to reschedule these two for next year when the band are once again fit and ready to play shows. All tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled shows but unfortunately we can’t yet provide you with a precise date. Those ticket holders that wish to be refunded for the Hebden Bridge shows can do so by sending an email to [email protected]."
