Elon Musk and Prince Andrew named in newly-released Epstein files

Elon Musk and Prince Andrew are named in new Jeffrey Epstein files released by Congressional Democrats. The files turned over to the House Oversight Committee by the Jeffrey Epstein Estate appear to show that Billionaire Musk had been invited to the Epstein's island in December 2014. Also, the file shows that a manifest for a flight from New Jersey to Florida in May 2000 names Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, among the passengers. Prince Andrew has previously denied any wrongdoing. Musk has previously been quoted as saying that Epstein had invited him to the island but he had declined. The partial records are from the third batch of documents produced by Epstein's estate. Democrats on the House Oversight Committee say they include phone message logs, copies of flight logs and manifests for aircraft, copies of financial ledgers and Epstein's daily schedule. In addition to Musk and Prince Andrew, the files released publicly also contain the names of other prominent figures including internet entrepreneur Peter Thiel and Steve Bannon, a former adviser to US President Donald Trump. One line in the records dated 6 December 2014 reads: "Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?)" A flight manifest records that Prince Andrew was on a flight with Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell from Teterboro, New Jersey, to West Palm Beach, Florida, on 12 May 2000. Maxwell was convicted in 2021 of conspiring with Epstein to traffic girls for sx. One heavily redacted ledger records two references of payments for massages for an "Andrew" in February and May 2000.While Palace records, photographs and press reports from the time indicate Prince Andrew had travelled to the US around the time of the dates recorded in the newly released document, it is not clear who the "Andrew" referred to in the ledger is. On 11 May 2000, Buckingham Palace said on its website that Prince Andrew had flown to New York to attend a reception there for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Andrew returned to the UK on 15 May, a later entry said. There is also an entry in the files referring to a planned lunch with Peter Thiel in November 2017. They also include an entry about a planned breakfast with Steve Bannon 17 February 2019. The files also mention tentative plans for a breakfast party with Microsoft founder Bill Gates in December 2014. In 2022, Gates told the BBC that meeting Epstein had been a "mistake". It is not suggested that those mentioned in the files were aware of the alleged criminal activity for which financier Epstein was later arrested. Epstein did by su!cide in a New York jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sx trafficking charges. In 2008, he reached a plea deal with prosecutors after the parents of a 14-year-old girl told police in Florida that Epstein had molested their daughter at his Palm Beach home. He was arrested again in July 2019 on sx trafficking charges. Sara Guerrero, spokeswoman for the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, urged US Attorney General Pam Bondi to release more files related to Epstein. "It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world," she said. "Every new document produced provides new information as we work to bring justice for the survivors and victims." Republicans on the committee accused the Democrats of "putting politics over victims" and said they would release the full set of documents soon. The post Elon Musk and Prince Andrew named in newly-released Epstein files appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.

Abia: Otti promises intervention as boundary dispute displaces Ihie Osu indigenes .

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has said his administration will do everything to ensure that some natives of Ihie Osu community in Arochukwu LGA who fled their homes because of land disputes are returned safely.
Otti gave the assurance on Thursday while responding to a passionate appeal by a concerned journalist, Peter Okore, about the terrible conditions of the displaced villagers.
Otti said that the state government, through the Deputy Governor, Ikechukwu Emetu, is doing everything possible to ensure peace in Abia boundary communities and their neighbors in Cross River and other states.
“We have not abandoned them, very soon they will return,” Otti assured.
Governor Otti also traced the root of the crises and displacement of Ihie Osu natives to an ownership tussle over limestone-rich land in the area.
He also announced that his administration is renovating and expanding the Aba Correctional Facility, saying he believes that inmates can be reformed to become better citizens.
On the reported vandalisation of some public schools in Abia, Governor Otti expressed surprise that individuals would be destroying facilities built with public funds, but disclosed that plans are underway to recruit security operatives to protect schools in the state.

Gentle De Yahoo: Ohanaeze youths urge fighters to lay down arms .

Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, on Thursday, called on those unleashing mayhem on South-East residents to lay down their arms.
The appeal was made by the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike.
He spoke in reaction to the reported capture of the famous member of the Auto Pilot, Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta, known as “Gentle De Yahoo”, by the Nigerian Military.
Okwu said the arrest provides an opportunity for those behind the killing and maiming of innocent South-East indigenes to have a re-think.
According to him, “The development is another opportunity to have a retrospection on the happenings in Igbo land. For the past three years or thereabouts, a season of mayhem has been unleashed on Ndigbo, not really by outsiders but our own people.
“It started as an agitation for Biafra, but soon became an avenue to kidnap people for ransom, harvest organs, sack communities, collect levies, among other heinous crimes.
“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has severally condemned what those people are doing; even the IPOB also disowned them severally, meaning that they are on their own, just as their name goes – Auto Pilot.
“What has worried every discerning person is how you end up killing and maiming the same people you claim to be fighting for. What an irony.”
The Ohanaeze Youth President urged those who are still in the bushes to come out and embrace peace, stressing that “Ndigbo are not known for shedding blood. There is sanctity of life in Igbo land but it has been so much desecrated.”
He, however, urged that time had come for Ndigbo to salvage whatever was left in the region.
“I urge them to free all the communities, especially in Imo and Anambra States that are still under siege.
“Enough of blood spilling; this is a time to rebuild our land,” Okwu declared.

Actress, Whoopi Goldberg sparks outrage after suggesting Trump be removed from office over UN speech

Whoopi Goldberg has come under heavy fire after calling for the removal of former US President Donald Trump, following his controversial United Nations General Assembly speech. Speaking on The View on Wednesday, the veteran actress and TV host claimed Trumps remarks were not presidential and not helpful, adding that many world leaders no longer take him seriously. According to New York Post, Goldberg went further to suggest invoking the 25th Amendment the constitutional clause that allows for a president to be ousted if deemed unfit to serve. Well, they questioned Bidens competence. If Biden had acted like this, I would have said, Yeah, take him, Goldberg said. This was not presidential and this was not helpful. Her statement immediately stirred heated reactions online. She was curiously silent during the dementia years of 20212025, one critic wrote on X. Another blasted her commentary, saying: Why do we care what she has to say? Clearly she doesnt understand what the 25th Amendment is. Its not about disagreeing with the other party. Alleged visa scam: Judge’s absence stalls criminal case against travel agent .

The absence of Justice Ademuyiwa Oyeyipo of a Federal Capital Territory High Court, sitting in Jabi, has stalled the hearing of the criminal case brought by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, against Sh*tta Waliu Aderibigbe and a travel agency, Fanzine Educational Consult.
The IGP, on behalf of a United Kingdom-based complainant, Mr Opeyemi Makinde, dragged Aderibigbe and the firm before the court for allegedly giving false information to the British government.
However, when the case came up on September 22, 2025, the judge was said to be indisposed and therefore, could not sit.
Following the inability of the court to sit, the case has been adjourned to November 19, 2025 for hearing of a motion filed by the IGP.
The IGP had filed a motion seeking an order of the court to allow the complainant, Makinde, testify in the case virtually.
Aderibigbe and the firm were arraigned on a two count charge. But they pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Justice Oyeyipo granted Aderibigbe bail in the sum of N1 million. He was also asked to produce two sureties who must be civil servants and not below level 9 in the civil service.
According to the judge, the sureties must deposit their passport photograph at the registry of the court and must be a resident of the FCT.
The defendants allegedly engaged in the visa scam on January 19, 2023.
In the charge dated April 9, 2024, Aderibigbe was said to have given false information to the British Embassy, that one Emmanuel Makinde Opeyemi is married to one Dolapo Afussat Yusuf.
The police further said in the charge that the false information has threatened the deportation of the said Emmanuel Makinde Opeyemi back to Nigeria.
According to the charge sheet, the accused knows that the act is unlawful and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 140 of the Penal Code Act, CAP 98 Law of Northern Nigeria.
The two count-charge against the accused persons read, “That you Sh*tta Waliu Aderibigbe ‘m’, Fanzine Educational Consult of No. 12 Evans Street, Idiroko, Along \jede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos state, and Miss Dolapo Afussat Yusuf ‘f’ (at large), sometimes in January, 2022 within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did conspired among yourselves to commit felony to wit: Giving false information to a Public servant, thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 97(1) of the Penal Code Act (1990. Stakeholders task Ogun govt on transparency in budget ex*****on for health sector .

Stakeholders in the health sector have expressed dissatisfaction with the poor implementation and lack of transparency in the sector’s budget ex*****on, calling for better monitoring and community engagement to improve service delivery.
They urged the state government to prioritize fiscal accountability, ensuring that public funds are utilized effectively to improve healthcare delivery in the state.
The call was made at a two-day stakeholder roundtable organized by the International Budget Partnership (IBP) on improved budget ex*****on for health services.
Speaking at the event held in Abeokuta, the state capital, IBP Country Director Olayinka Babalola stated that the purpose was to bring together the government, civil society actors, and the community to discuss how to enhance the budget ex*****on of healthcare services in the state.
Babalola, while acknowledging the state’s enhanced primary healthcare delivery, contended that numerous obstacles were preventing the full implementation of the sector’s budget.
She clarified that the move is aimed at finding possible solutions, not witch-hunting.
In his remarks, IBP Strategy and Policy Lead Onyekachi Chukwu lamented that the state health budget trends and ex*****on rates from 2017 to 2024 have been consistently weak and often below 50 percent.
“What the trend shows is that between 2017 and 2021, Ogun’s health budget ex*****on was consistently weak, often below 50 percent. The worst year was 2020, when only 19% of the health budget was spent. Ex*****on rose to 26% in 2023 and 40% in 2024, showing modest recovery,” he said.
He asserted that citizens would perceive greater service if the budget were executed more effectively.
Meanwhile, they bemoaned that despite the state signing up to the Open Government Partnership (OGP) and committing to run an open and transparent budget process, accessing information such as detailed budgets and costs of renovations at various facility levels remains difficult.
“The budget provided on the state’s website is summarized by implementing ministry, which makes it difficult to track. The available Citizen Report from the Accountant General’s Office is not well detailed; however, it highlighted the renovation of five PHCs in Ado-Odo/Ota and five in Ipokia LGAs.
“The budget available is at the summary level and makes it very difficult to track specific project budget lines. None of the Auditor-General’s consolidated reports for the local governments includes relevant information or figures specifically for PHCs. Details of specific projects of ministries/agencies are not available, as we only have a lump sum for each ministry or agency,” Damilola Sodiya, a representative from IBP Action Lab, said.
Responding, the Executive Secretary of the Ogun State Primary Healthcare Board, Dr. Elijah Ogunsola, explained that the state is running a national template and cannot go beyond what the regulatory body provides.
Ogunsola assured that the government is open to collaboration to improve the state’s health system and stressed that nothing is being concealed.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Akinbobola Mosunmola, Director of Programs at Women for Peace and Gender Equality Initiative, called for at least one sign language representative at various health facilities, citing examples where people living with disabilities are unable to express themselves.
Others in attendance included Mr. Babatunde Aregbesola, Accountant General/Permanent Secretary (Treasury), represented by Mr. Olayinka Odukoya, Director Consolidated Accounts, Office of the Accountant General; Bolarinwa Adebowale, Acting DG, Bureau of Public Procurement; and Akirinmade Akindele, Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, Compliance, and Enforcement, Bureau of Public Procurement, Ogun State.
