They finally got him! Despite being the hide and seek champion, Hildebrand has finally been cornered into being pope. And what a papacy he will have! HOUSEKEEPING ANNOUNCEMENT:

Schedule Update:

As we dig into the High Middle Ages, our episodes are getting longer and meatier! And in order to keep sustainable, we are making a few scheduling changes to accomodate the demand this puts on editing, QA and admin.

For the foreseeable future, our episodes will be coming out 2 weeks from their recording - which for the MOST part, won't look any different to our listeners. But, this means if our recording schedule is interrupted for any reason (sickness, travel, work, etc), the schedule may be moved a week here and there.

That is the case this week! Our next episode (Alexander II) will be coming out next week, November 24th.

Winter Break:
Additionally, we will be taking a brief winter break from releasing, to tackle some advance recordings, and even more research!

We will have two more episodes coming out this year - Alexander II next week, and the massive episode on Gregory VII, December 8th.

After that, we will pause release (except for patreon) until we return in the new year on JANUARY 26th!

Thanks for sticking with us, and we look forward to bringing you even more papal drama very, very soon!

Thanks to some miracle working all around (My voice coming back, Gregg speed editing, and Fry QC'ing), tomorrow's episode will amazingly come out ON TIME!

This is an even greater feat when you consider this episode was a strong contender for longest episode ever (and lost by only 9 mins!)

*Heavy sigh* I (Bry) have been very sick this week and completely lost my voice.

We are halfway through recording the next episode (a MASSIVE ONE), but the second half will have to wait until my voice returns, so it may be delayed to Monday the 15th.

Apologies, and thanks for your patience! We will be recording as SOON as possible, and Gregg is already editing the first half so we can make a swift turnaround.

Update: Pope Eugene has been haunting us further! Brys new computer is up and operational, but now Frys PC had a heating issue and Gregg's monitor has gone haywire! Fortunately, we have been able to record, and fixes are underway though, so expect our newest episode to drop August 11th!

14/07/2025

Unfortunate news- Pope Eugene was indeed up to his old shenanigans, and the laptop is officially dead. A replacement PC is in the works, but this likely means a temporary hiatus while we get the parts. 👻🪦
