As my auntie likes to sing, “A black girl and her locs..!”😏 One thing I hate to see/ experience is when people feel like their opinions of how you “should” wear your hair, is more valid than YOUR personal choice. It REALLY grinds my gears 😒😂 Through my loc journey I’ve experienced family, friends, and others telling me how I would regret locking my hair, or how they miss MY curls, or that they liked MY hair better “the other way”. I thank God that my mind is strong because I could’ve easily been discouraged on my journey🌻

I’ve come to a point where I have to leave this path, to move on to the next. As a natural haircare specialist, I stress to my clients that I value the overall health of their hair, over “a look”. Recently, I noticed some thinning in the density of my hair in the crown. I have and got some bloodwork done. Found out my vitamin D levels were severely low (at a 6). Vitamin D deficiency can lead to many health issues, hair loss being one. With that being said, I have combed out my locs and will begin my next journey of healthy hair. ✌🏾🦋
