When producing, don’t just always build your track one element at a time in a linear fashion. If you do this you miss the opportunity to try new things and experiment.

Instead, try changing things up drastically every now and then. You may find that a completely different bass sound works better with the drums you just put in, or that the chords you are using need to be taken out completely.

Don’t fear making big changes and don’t limit yourself to what you have in your head when you first start a track!

Producing for the consumer is 100% how you have to approach things.

So many producers are concerned about all the small intricacies of a production but that can be never ending.

You will finish tracks a lot quicker when you understand that those small intricacies you’re worried about (my bass isn’t loud enough etc) will not matter so much of the overall vibe of your track is on point.

Ironically, worrying too much about those small details will make your track not as good as you will lose that ‘flow’ state and take longer to finish a job.

Just let the small things go and focus on how the end listener will appreciate the overall vibe of your track. Get it done!
