INTERSTELLAR GROOVE FESTIVAL 2024: IMPORTANT UPDATE
To all of our Interstellar community and everyone involved in the festival, please read the important update below.
As you know it’s been a pretty bumpy road for the team and festival to bring our second edition to fruition (and that’s putting it lightly). We have been so excited to unleash our creativity and epic line-up in our new home of Rokewood given we had all the big approvals in place to proceed (Council, CFA, Police, Ambulance Victoria and EPA).
Sadly and to our great disappointment a small number of the local community have placed firm objections with the local council to prevent Interstellar Groove from proceeding in Rokewood. Despite all our efforts including mediation sessions and offering to make changes to the festival to appease their concerns, they are not budging and are willing to take us to court to stop us. As we sat with the reality of another cancellation, the financial losses we’ve already personally incurred through the planning process, we also knew deep down that we want to host our amazing community event in a location where we are welcomed and embraced by the local community.
But, all is not lost! While we were at the bottom of the barrel emotionally & mentally and at a loss on how to move forward, our wonderful intergalactic universe had other plans for us!
The organisers at Aura Festival heard our plight on the grapevine and in true music community style came to us in a bid to not see another festival cancellation hit the headlines and offered us the opportunity to combine forces and relocate our 2 stages to their amazing festival site in Tallarook. Seriously, we can't thank the Aura crew enough for this opportunity and it’s testament to the passion and community spirit that runs through Victoria’s music scene.
So…what does this mean for Interstellar Groove Festival 2024?
Essentially it’s two festivals combined for the price of one (which you don’t get very often). Two amazing communities coming together to enjoy 4 stages of music over 5 days (31st of October - 4th of November 2024) . Whilst Aura will still deliver their own stages of music, amazing production and good vibes, as well as the mighty Snakepit crew offering up loads of goodness, we will also have the luxury of bringing both our stages of music, all of our production, decor, good vibes and everything in between to have one hell of a weekend. All of Interstellar Groove's 2024 headline acts (International & Domestic) as well as all of our local support acts all remain to deliver 5 days of amazing music. We will also maintain our own camping & glamping area and essentially create an Interstellar Groove Village to add to the wonderful Aura magic!
While it may not be the original format of Interstellar Groove we had planned for, we are certain that this is a music community collaboration that will work and make for an incredible long weekend of music, memories and community in Tallarook.
All Festival tickets from Interstellar Groove 2024 automatically roll over and are valid, there is nothing you need to do and all tickets will be re-sent to current ticket holders before the festival commences, so you all have all the correct information on your tickets, other than that you arrive as normal to our new festival site ( 210 Tallarook-Pyalong Rd, Tallarook VIC). If the new plans don’t work for you, we understand and you will have 7 days to go into your order and refund your tickets in full (minus the BF) (please see the instructions of how to do this below or via your Humanitix order).
Some new and updated Key Information:
- Interstellar Groove Admission ticket holders who have also purchased an Early Access pass can enter the site on the 31st October, with Gates opening at Midday.
- All Admission ticket holders without an Early Access pass, can enter the site from 11am Friday morning.
- All Interstellar Groove Industry Ticket Holders (Hard copy or online) can enter the site from Thursday the 31st October when gates open.
- The entrance Gates close at 9pm sharp on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and once on site and camped there is no driving on site until you are ready to leave the festival.
- There will be a designated Interstellar Groove entrance line, look for the signs and please enter via this lane for smooth and uninterrupted entry.
- We have our opening party Thursday night in an area called the Clubhouse!
- The new address is 210 Tallarook-Pyalong Rd, Tallarook VIC.
- The festival finishes Monday Nov 4 at 10pm, with all patrons leaving the site by Midday Tuesday.
- Our Main stage will operate Friday through until Monday (this will be Aura’s Mushroom stage for part of Saturday & Sunday). Our 2nd stage (Interstellar Village Dome) will also run Friday through until Monday.
- The Festival is BYO and also runs a bar.
- Vehicle passes are still required for anyone entering the site with a Vehicle.
- All Glamping Bell tents purchased will be set up and waiting for your arrival. (There are only 5 x Glamping tents left for purchase)
- All Bus tickets are valid. Interstellar Groove Bus ticket holders, the bus to the new site will depart from Southern Cross station at 11am. It will return back to Southern Cross from site at Tuesday 10am. (There are 9 Bus tickets on the last Bus available)
- We will have our own Camping and Glamping area, as well as our own Info tent for all Glamping check in, Volunteer check in, Artist and crew check in and any other help or info you may need across the weekend.
- There are plenty of showers and toilets provided on site.
- There are many food options also on site, but as always please feel free to bring snacks, food and Water.
- There are no naked flames, generators or gas cooking equipment allowed on site
- There are no pass outs, so please pack accordingly.
Humantix Refund options:
Search for your order confirmation email from Humanitix ([email protected]) and click the manage order button.
Select the refund/cancel tab.
Follow the prompts to refund and cancel your ticket(s). You will receive the funds to the card used for your purchase.
Please note if you have used ZipPay that your refund may be credited to your Zippay balance/account.
