Make a Change: Pay It Forward Little things make a big difference. So do little things for people, whether you know them or not.

My goal will be to leave small reminders around the community that encourage virtuous interactions between friends, coworkers, family, and-perhaps most importantly-strangers. I hope to expand people’s comfort zones in terms of relationships or acquaintances that may not have developed otherwise. I plan to use a simple, light-hearted, yet effective approach: I will attach small notes or posters around town (in restaurants, businesses, street corners, and especially on campus), with text that starts with “Pay it forward…” and continues to suggest simple tasks such as holding the door open for the person behind you, buying coffee for a stranger, asking the person next to you how their day is going, etc. This kind of simple interaction will hopefully remind or at least spread awareness of the importance of creating and sustaining a connection between all people regardless of age, gender, race, or any other “difference” one might have.
