💫This post is dedicated to my children and grandbabes.

A tree 🎄trimmed in their honor with their priceless homemade ornaments. (There are a few travel ornaments also mixed in).

As I trimmed this tree, I also included a German tradition from my grandmother, a treat tree! My grandmother was born in 1899 and she told me they had very little money to decorate their trees in the old country, so sweet treats were what adorned their trees. Anise Sugar Cookies, gum drops, candy canes and chocolates so the kids could eat to their sweet tooth’s desire during the Christmas Eve celebration. Sounds like a child’s dream! It was fun placing the foil wrapped chocolate ornaments I bought from and thought about how this tradition should be carried on to the new generation in our family.

Can never go wrong with compound butters!
It elevates even the most simplest dishes and makes your holiday spread just a little more gourmet!

I used one unsalted butter cube for each flavor. Make sure your butter is at room temp!

Cinnamon butter: 2 tsp of cinnamon 1/8 cup of honey 1/4 cup powdered sugar, and 1/2 tsp vanilla, add in some salt.

Cranberry butter: 3 tbsp of your favorite cranberry sauce and add a tbsp of honey.

Herb butter: I tbsp of thyme and rosemary, 2 tsp chives, 1 tbsp of garlic.

Honey butter: 2 tbsp of honey, 1/2 tsp of vanilla
