पंजाब पुलिस ने कुल दस पत्रकारों और यूट्यूबरों पर मुकदमा दर्ज किया है। दिसम्बर में दर्ज हुए इस मुकदमे की जानकारी नये साल पर सार्वजनिक हुई। मुकदमा इसलिए किया गया है क्योंकि कुछ पत्रकारों ने सवाल उठा दिया था कि मुख्यमंत्री की गैर-मौजूदगी में उनका हेलिकाप्टर क्यों चालू था।

चंडीगढ़ प्रेस क्लब ने कडा नींद बयान जारी किया है लेकिन अब तक दिल्ली के प्रेस क्लब ऑफ इंडिया या एडिटर गिल्ड जैसी संस्थाओं ने इस मामले पर कुछ नहीं कहा है। चंडीगढ़ प्रेस क्लब ने इस मसले पर गवर्नर को चिट्ठी लिखी है।
