The Castleford Heritage Network have held another successful meeting tonight at Castleford Parish Church which Castleford Civic Society are always delighted to join. Prior to our meeting, members were able to listen to a fascinating talk by David Field on the history of the stained glass windows in the Church and how they tell the story of both the Church and our town. This talk will be repeated in full as one of our Heritage Open Days events with more details for this event provided at the link in the comments below.

We’re pleased to have had some rain 🌧️ for all our planters in the town, at the railway station and here on Beancroft Road. With the pictured planters in mind, we particularly want to thank Allisons Home & Garden for their kind donation of infill, soil and compost. Thank you very much.

For Heritage Open Days we have a NEW history walk around our conservation area in Bank, Bradley and Wesley Streets. Hear all about these buildings and the people who lived and/or worked in them as they tell the story of our Victorian and Edwardian town. Further details are at the link below ⬇️ .
