*TITLE*: LOVING YOUR ENEMIES
FRIDAY MAY 4TH, 2018.

*INTRO SCRIPTURES*: Matt 5:44
**********************
*But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you*

BRIEF EXPLANATION
**********************
Life without forgiveness is torture. When people have sinned, they often suffer guilt pangs. When people have been sinned against, they are often tormented by anger and hatred. The gospel of Jesus brings relief both to sinners and to those who have been sinned against.
If you've been abused or deeply offended, the memories can be devastating as what actually happened. You may carry a grudge and wish the worst upon the person you hate. Or the memory may be so frightening that you can't bear to think about what happened. But when you trust in Jesus, you receive power to forgive sins committed against you. Jesus enables you to deal with your memories and face the awful truth about how deeply you've been hurt. The person who hurt you has been your enemy in a terribly painful way, but receive strength to love and pray for that person.
Loving your enemies is not a burden but a blessing. You begin to experience new freedom. Your enemy no longer controls your feelings toward him. Hatred is no longer your automatic reflex to a painful memory. Loving your enemies is a gift of God that helps you experience God's love for you in a deeper and more powerful way. Every time you love an enemy, you realize again that while you were God's enemy, Jesus loved you and died for you. *(Romans 5:10)*

*PRAYER*
LORD, thank you for freedom from resentment. If I have unresolved anger, help me to deal with it. Give my enemy the same joy and blessing that you have given me. Amen #

God bless you. Live a good life because life with God is good.

*TITLE*: COMING CLEAN
THURSDAY MAY 3RD, 2018.

*INTRO SCRIPTURES*: proverbs 28:13
**********************
*He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy*.

BRIEF EXPLANATION
**********************
do you know any child who willingly tells his sister "I'm sorry" without a nudge and perhaps a threat from his parents? For that matter, when was the last time you said "I'm sorry" to anyone?
Apologies don't come naturally, we seldom see how we have been wrong and even if we do, we don't like admitting it to anyone else.
That's a serious problem. "He who conceals his _sins does not prosper". Our relationship with other people do not prosper if we never admit we are wrong. Our relationship with God does not prosper unless we confess and renounce our sins. The longer we hide our sins, the more miserable we become *(psalms 32:3-4)*
Confession does not come naturally, but it can come supernaturally. When God's light shines on us, we are able to come clean. We stop deceiving ourselves. We stop calling God a liar.

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other *(James 5:16)*. With God's help, make a list of the sins against God and others that you have not yet confessed. Then confess to God and to the people you've wronged. Come clean. As we bring our sins into the light, we experience God's mercy and forgiveness. "We have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his son, purifies us from all sin" *(1 John 1:7)*.

*PRAYER*
LORD, show me how I have offended you and hurt others. Help me confess to you and to them. Thank you for the mercy and blessing that come through confession . Amen #

God bless you. Live a good life because life with God is good.

*TITLE*: OVERPOWERING THE STRONG MAN
WEDNESDAY MAY 2ND, 2018.

*INTRO SCRIPTURES*: MATT 12:29
**********************
*Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house*

BRIEF EXPLANATION
**********************
Many of our troubles involves sin. But there's more behind these sins than a simple choice to do wrong. We face a deadly illness, an overwhelming bo***ge, a spiritual sickness and slavery are Satan's specialities. He often uses methods much more subtle that outright demon possession. Every day, people find that in their own strength they cannot escape alcoholism or fits of rage of sexual misbehaviour. Human effort cannot overcome the dreaded power of Satan. Every attempt to change will only be frustrated until someone binds the power of Satan that's destroying us.

We need a power greater than ourselves and greater than Satan to free us and heal us. So we must admit our helplessness and entrust our lives to *Jesus*. Christ can overpower Satan, bind him, and set us free from every kind of sickness and slavery. Most bo***ge is not a case of actual possession by a demon, so deliverance does not always involve a dramatic exorcism. But liberation is real.
In surrender to Christ, we find that destructive behavior is no longer dominating our lives. Each day our freedom grows and flourishes as we depend on God's power and we grow in fellowship with other people Jesus has liberated. Satan's reign of terror is over.

*PRAYER*
LORD JESUS, without you we are at Satan's mercy and he has no mercy. Destroy the devils power; free us from slavery, and heal our sickness through your Holy Spirit. Amen #

God bless you. Live a good life because life with God is good.
