I am, apparently, still lovestruck with Germany as I start by blasting your eardrums with some deranged Deutschland tekkno-bangers before taking you on a Teutonic tour of Neue Deutsche Härte. There's plenty of music beyond that nation's borders, however, including massive doom and thrash tracks nestled alongside a tribute-paying Triple Triumph (one song, three versions, you pick the winner) and plenty of chit-chat with the listeners.

Helloween - a grail band for me to see live and I got to behold them in their homeland with my best friend who lives on the opposite side of the world, the guy who introduced me to them and a great many more bands I love.

I have returned from Summer Breeze and am happy to report it is nothing less than stupendous. I even got to meet longtime listener-cum-friend Andreas in the flesh! I'll be summing up my experience at the festival on this episode and while not *another* special, it will be heavily inspired by the event.

Very soon I'll be jetting off to Germany to attend Summer Breeze to see some of my absolute grail bands like Helloween and MOTORJESUS play live for the first time - in their homeland, no less! I'll even have the immense joy of meeting up with longtime listener and pivotal Metal Empire community member Andreas there too!

This Monthly Special is a warmup show featuring only bands playing the legendary festival. An appetiser for those able to go and a taste those who can't.

That mainstay of the British metal calendar, Bloodstock Festival, turns 25 this year and the festival is almost upon us! Their promotor reached out to me to do a special and since I missed doing one last month due to a preposterous workload, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to make up for it.

Expect artists you can hear on the stages at Catton Hall and a thematic Triple Triumph. Starting the show, however, there's some wonderful news from longtime listener DG and an appropriate track in celebration.
