Happy "Tear-It-Up-Tuesday", REBEL RADIO Family! I was inspired to put something a little bit different together, for this week's show. Statistically, July is always the hottest month, of the year. A few days ago, when I was looking through all of your suggestions, for the Build-A-Block feature, I noticed that our "Aussie Ambassadress" Sarah, had suggested the word, "FIRE". So, I started looking for songs, with that word, in the title. I quickly came to realize that there is a veritable "plethora" (fancy word) of them! Enough, in fact, to fill up an entire show, consisting of great Metal songs, that all have the word "FIRE", in their titles. So, that's the plan: A night of those "FIRE" songs, to usher out the hottest month, of 2025! And there are some ass-kickers on the playlist, I promise! 🤘😆🤘 It'll be a night of the hottest Metal tunes, to bid farewell to the hottest month, of 2025! It'll be 🔥FIRE🔥...literally! ~ TONIGHT, WE CELEBRATE REBEL RADIO'S 31st BIRTHDAY! ~
Happy "Tear-It-Up-Tuesday", Metalheads! It's Kevin Smith greeting you, on another scorching, Chicago, summer day. There has definitely been no shortage of heat and humidity, so far, this season. 🤘🥵🤘 So, once again, I would like to advise you to stay home tonight, to stay cool, as well as hydrated and buzzed (!) And join me, on "The Hardest Station In The Nation", REBEL RADIO, from 7:00 PM 'til Midnight (Chicago Time). This evening's show is going to focus, majorly, on the 31st anniversary of our great station. As well as the best Metal, from each year that REBEL RADIO has been on the air. I have obtained a list, compiled by LoudWire Magazine, of the number one Metal songs of each year, going all the way back, 45 years. So, what I'm going to do, is pick it up from the year that we went on the air (1994) and play the #1 Metal song, for every year that REBEL RADIO has been, in existence. All 31 years! So, it'll be an anniversary feature filled with nothing but the best tunes, all the way through. It should most assuredly be quite kick-ass! And we'll get to that list, right after a couple items of business, first: An opening 6-Pack of letter "Y" bands, will kick off the show. And a few new releases to check out, as well. Now, after the LoudWire #1 list, I do have more things planned. But as always, it depends on how much time I've got left. Either way, it'll be a night filled with killer music! Good afternoon!
It's Kevin Smith, here. Hey, I just wanted to wish a very happy 31st birthday, to my all-time favorite radio station, REBEL RADIO, and to give a big thanks to Scott Davidson for keeping this baby afloat, and keeping Metal music (a/k/a: REAL MUSIC) alive, and on the air, for over three decades! Not an easy feat, to be sure! And thank you, too, for including me, in the lineup, for the past 7 years! I'm grateful for the opportunity.
Also, and mainly, a HUUUGE thank you, to the listeners of this station! For a 100% certainty, there would be no REBEL RADIO, without you all! We couldn't ask for a more loyal listening audience! Here's to another 31 years+!! 🤘🍻🤘

~ HEY! HANG OUT WITH ME, AND LET'S JAM SOME METAL, TONIGHT! ~
And let's do that on Chicago's own "Mecca Of Metal", the one and only, REBEL RADIO! I, Kevin Smith, will be your host, for a quite "bombastic" (nice word!) show I like to call, "Tear-It-Up-Tuesday", on that very same station, this evening, from 7:00 PM, until Midnight (U.S. Central Time). I intend to fill that 5 hours, with heavy music, that is intended to make you very glad you tuned in! Tonight's show will begin with a block of songs, by bands that have the letter, "X" as the first letter of their respective names. Easily the toughest search, of the entire alphabet! Up next, some new releases are on tap. There'll be new Metal from: S***m, Forbidden, Oni (Logan), Judas Priest and a couple more. After that, the time machine will be gassed up (with the A/C running!) and ready to take us back 16 years, to the year 2009, for an extended perusal of some of the ass-kickin' Metal, released that year. And, in my opinion, there's a bunch of it! 🤘😆🤘 Once we return to present day, I've lined up a covers feature that pays tribute to the legendary Black Sabbath, in honor of their final performance, a few days ago, on July 5th. Next up is the Build-A-Block feature and Stephanie has suggested the word, CRAZY and also contributed one song suggestion, to that block. Time permitting, I've got more in store, as well.
