🐺 Rewilding isn’t about turning back time.
It’s about remembering how to live with the wild again 🌿

In this conversation, we explore the work of Dr. Jonny Hanson—author of Living with Lynx—and his deep commitment to coexistence with some of the world’s most misunderstood animals.

From reintroducing lynx into European landscapes, to working alongside communities in Nepal to protect snow leopards, Dr. Hanson's work reminds us that conservation isn’t just about animals—it’s about relationships.

Relationships between people and predators.
Between culture and ecology.
Between fear and understanding.
Rewilding asks a powerful question:
What becomes possible when we choose coexistence over control?

Polar bears are not extinct.
But they are not safe. 🐻‍❄️🧊

Right now, polar bears are classified as Vulnerable.
That means populations still exist but their future depends on how quickly the Arctic continues to change.

🧊Sea ice is shrinking, thinning, and forming later each year.

🐻‍❄For polar bears, that means a shorter hunting window, longer fasting periods, and fewer cubs surviving to adulthood.
Some populations are holding on.
Others are already declining.

This is what conservation looks like in real time — not a sudden collapse, but a narrowing margin for survival.
Understanding the status matters, because it reminds us:

there is still time — but not unlimited time.

Polar bears face one of the fastest-changing environments on Earth 🐻‍❄️❄️
While protecting wild habitat is critical, modern zoos play an important role in polar bear conservation too.
In this short, we explore: • How zoos support conservation and research
• Why education matters for protecting wild polar bears
• The difference between outdated zoos and modern conservation facilities
Zoos are not the solution — but they are part of the solution.

Polar bears don’t chase. They wait. 🐻‍❄️❄️

Built for ice, not speed, polar bears are masters of patience.
They hunt by listening for seals beneath the snow, smelling breathing holes from incredible distances, and waiting — sometimes for hours — beside the ice.

This hunting strategy only works when sea ice is stable.
As the ice breaks earlier each year, that precious hunting window grows shorter… and survival becomes harder.

This isn’t just about strength — it’s about timing, precision, and an Arctic perfectly tuned to one predator.

Nature designed them for the ice.
The question is whether the ice can hold on long enough.

Every year, Christmas Island transforms into a moving sea of red. 🦀🌧️

Triggered by the first rains of the wet season, tens of millions of Christmas Island Red Crabs leave the rainforest and march toward the ocean in one of the greatest animal migrations on Earth. Roads close. Bridges are built just for them. The entire island adapts to their ancient journey.

Timed perfectly with the moon and the tides, this migration has been happening for thousands of years — and it’s essential for the survival of the species and the health of the island itself.

Nature doesn’t get more extraordinary than this. 🌍

Cockroaches might not be popular, but on Christmas Island, they’re essential. 🪳🌿

These native cockroaches play a critical role underground, cleaning crab burrows, breaking down organic waste, recycling nutrients, and helping maintain the humid micro-ecosystems that Christmas Island Red Crabs depend on to survive.

Without them, burrows would degrade, soil health would suffer, and the island’s delicate balance between forest, insects, and crabs would begin to unravel.

This is a reminder that conservation isn’t just about the charismatic species, it’s about protecting the tiny, overlooked workers that quietly keep ecosystems functioning.

Millions of bright red crabs cover Christmas Island every year… but how long do these legendary travelers actually live? 👀

Christmas Island Red Crabs can survive up to 20–30 years in the wild, spending most of their lives hidden deep in the rainforest before making their iconic migration to the sea. 🌧️🌕

From tiny larvae swept into the ocean to decades of shaping the island’s rainforest, these crabs are true ecosystem engineers — and their life story is one of nature’s greatest slow-burn miracles. ❤️🌿

If you’ve ever wanted to witness a natural wonder, this is it.

Meet Josh Carter — a wildlife photographer and filmmaker using his lens to protect the planet’s most vulnerable creatures.
From remote oceans to rugged wilderness, Josh captures the stories that animals can’t tell for themselves moments of beauty, struggle, resilience, and hope.

His work doesn’t just document wildlife…
it inspires action, sparks conversation, and reminds us why these species are worth fighting for.

Every frame he shoots becomes a bridge between people and the wild places we all depend on.
Here’s to the storytellers who are changing the world, one image at a time. 🌿🎥✨

🥚Snowy Albatross are legendary ocean wanderers, but they’re also deeply devoted parents.
They raise just one chick every two years, and the effort is extraordinary.

😮 For 8 months, both parents take turns soaring thousands of kilometres across the Southern Ocean to bring back food: rich, oily squid and fish that help the chick survive bitter winds and harsh storms.

This slow, careful parenting strategy has worked for millions of years… until now.
With so many threats in the modern ocean, the fate of each chick truly matters. 💙🕊️

Let’s protect these devoted parents of the sea.

🪶The Snowy Albatross is the largest flying bird on Earth with a giant with a wingspan stretching up to 3.5 metres.

🌏 These ocean wanderers glide across the entire Southern Ocean on almost no energy, riding the wind like ancient masters of the sky.

➡️ But today, this incredible species is Endangered.
Longline fishing, plastic pollution, and shifting ocean winds are pushing their numbers down, with only around 20,000 adults left in the wild.

These birds have crossed oceans for millions of years… now they need us.
🌊💙 Let’s protect the wanderers of the wind.

Wild cats don’t just purr when they’re relaxed…
They also purr when they’re injured, scared, or in pain and here’s the incredible reason why.

Purring isn’t only a sign of contentment.
It’s a built-in healing mechanism.

A cat’s purr vibrates between 25–150 Hz, the same frequency range shown to:
🐾 Stimulate bone and tissue repair
🐾 Reduce pain and inflammation
🐾 Support wound healing
🐾 Calm the nervous system and lower stress

So when a wildcat is hurt, exhausted, or recovering from an injury, purring may act like nature’s version of self-therapy — a vibration that soothes, strengthens, and restores.

They’re not just comforting themselves emotionally…
They’re literally healing themselves.

Wild or domestic, the purr is one of nature’s most powerful survival tools. ✨🐾
