Pine Brook Friday: Radical new designs was always a part of three quarter midget racing back in the day. Home made and small shop ideas is what made racing these powerful mites exciting. Ever looking for a new way of beating the other guys without a "cookie cutter" mentality. In 1972 and '73 Jon Holmquest generated a new wedge shape car that would go on to evolve into a new generation of competitive machines. Here, in 1973 is the Joe Anderson/Mel Mondschein effort. Mel, warms up the #6 at the famed oval.
