As one of Prince's original guitarists, Dez was absolutely pivotal in shaping the raw rock edge and dynamic live show that characterized Prince's rise from the late 70s into the early 80s. And yes, that electrifying, unforgettable guitar solo on "Little Red Corvette"? That was all Dez!

Dez wasn't just a phenomenal guitarist; he was a commanding stage presence, often seen with his signature trench coat, and he also contributed memorable backing vocals (famously trading lines with Prince on the title track "1999").

Though he departed Prince's band just before The Revolution officially solidified for the Purple Rain era (choosing to pursue his own musical direction and focus on his Christian faith), his impact is undeniable. Dez Dickerson's signature guitar work and stage presence were crucial in shaping Prince's early, groundbreaking sound and helping to lay the groundwork for the global superstardom that followed.
