Evolving the timeless Journey
When GU013 Ibiza arrived in September 1999, Sasha’s selections from his Space Ibiza sets etched themselves into the fabric of global club culture. The originals spoke with clarity: Deep Progress in its uncut form, Mercury & Solace in its soaring trance guise, Stage One as a milestone of cinematic progression. Each track was placed with precision, creating an arc that felt both inevitable and untouchable.
This 2025 reconstruction takes that same map and redraws the contours. Where Sasha placed the originals, here alternate versions step forward. Raff n Freddy’s Deep Progress returns, but reshaped through a Mosho edit — sharper, more insistent. Zoe, once heard in its classic trance cut, now glows with Chris Cargo’s private remix. BT’s Mercury & Solace is no longer the anthem as-was, but a re-edit that bends its edges into something more elusive.
Some classics take on whole new skins: Perception reworked with Ruhe’s subtle touch, Heaven Scent lifted into Marsh’s widescreen palette, Xpander expanded again through Axel V’s mind-expansion. Even cornerstones like Stage One and Dreamstate branch into alternate realities — edits and remixes that tilt the familiar sky into new colors.
The differences are not jolts but tangents: quiet deviations that send the listener into unexpected spaces. The sequence still flows with the DNA of Ibiza ’99, but the journey is threaded with detours — edits, B-sides, and reinterpretations that Take you into a familiar space but another dimension.
