π‘ππͺπ¦ | Mx. Sumaway Finishes as Top 8 Finalist; Wins Corporate Award at Serene Empress 2025
The College of Engineering (CEN) representative, Mx. Dexie Sumaway of BSCE 4-3, finished as one of the Top 8 finalists and earned the Miss Nuat Thai corporate award during the Lantern Serene Empress 2025, held on December 18, 2025, at the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) Oval.
The pageant, one of the highlights of the CLSU Lantern Festival 2025, was staged under the theme βKISLAP: Kwento ng Ilaw sa Lansangan, Alay sa Paskong Pinagdiriwang.β Representing CEN, Mx. Sumaway impressed the audience through the production number, advocacy cape presentation, and evening gown competition, showcasing confidence, elegance, and striking stage presence.
During the Top 8 Question-and-Answer (Q&A) segment, Mx. Sumaway was asked about Sustainable Development Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities. She emphasized the importance of providing equal opportunities regardless of background, highlighting the need to create βa world that is thriving and valuable for future generations.β
Reflecting on her journey, Mx. Sumaway shared an empowering message for future Ms. Serene Empress - CEN: βAng advice ko lang saβyo, be authentic and be the voice of Engineering students who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Ipaglaban mo kung ano ang dapat ipaglaban.β
Meanwhile, Mx. Keizha Pascual from the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) was crowned Lantern Serene Empress 2025, garnering the majority of the special awards during the competition. Mx. CASS was followed by Mx. CHSI as first runner-up and Mx. CBA as second runner-up.
