📚✨ Meet Local Author Lisa Hatfield

We’re excited to welcome Lisa Hatfield, risk reduction evangelist and local author, for a special book signing and meet & greet at Lake & Lantern Café!

Lisa has lived through four wildfires near her home and now shares her expertise in emergency preparedness so people can help themselves when 9-1-1 isn’t coming. She teaches community emergency response training with Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management, works hands-on with volunteer groups doing wildfire property evaluations and tree cutting, and reports on local government meetings for our community news.

Her mission is simple but powerful: to be a shining light and help people regain control of their lives—starting with the truth that the only person you can change is yourself.

Fire Adapted Colorado Neighborhood Ambassador Orientation - Fall 2024
This course will take place at 6pm-8pm MST Thursday evenings from October 17-Nov 21, 2024.

This FREE course on Zoom is an introduction to serving as a wildfire Neighborhood Ambassador for your community.

Course content will include: what is a wildfire Neighborhood Ambassador, basics of wildfire behavior, the home ignition zone and "home hardening" vs. flying embers, Colorado fuels and vegetation management, household and community readiness, planning community events, and the human aspects of moving neighbors to action.
