This is fascinating to watch. Thank God these three hostages are going home alive and well. Thank God for the International Red Cross. 🎌
I hope the ceasefire brings the beginning of peace talks, lasting healing, hope, and justice.
It's notable that before journalist Sam Husseini got dragged out of Antony Blinken's last official press conference today by three security guards, he was trying to ask a question about the Hannibal Directive -- Israel's policy of killing its own people.
It comes as Israel is bombing sites where the hostages are thought to be held just days before they are due to be freed and come home. The massacres over the last 24 hours have been intense.
Husseini says that State Spox Matthew Miller had given him notice Blinken would not be taking his questions. You can hear him say, "Matthew Miller says he doesn't know about the Hannibal Directive."
If Israel kills the hostages, it could endanger the ceasefire deal as well as -- of course -- those hostages.
It seems like a pretty pressing question.

J. William Fulbright served in the U.S. Senate from 1945-1974. As chairman of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he argued that the United States should put its interests first. He argued against an overreaching foreign policy, against U.S.-involvement in the Vietnam War, and against making support for Israel unconditional.
When the American Zionist Committee for Public Affairs, AZCPA, became AIPAC in 1959 to avoid being labeled as a "foreign agent," Fulbright saw the maneuver for what it was: He recognized the group's close connection to the Israeli government.
He was an American politician who argued that support for Israel's survival is fine. Providing "open-ended backing of foreign policy actions" by their government is not. American national interests should come first.
Fulbright opposed propaganda. He founded the scholarship program that sponsored American scholarship abroad. He asserted understanding other countries and appreciating their cultures improves international relations. "Go see for yourself."
Fulbright advocated for a balanced approach to the Middle East--one that supported Israel's existence while upholding "good political and economic relations" with Arab countries.
We need more Fulbrights.

Shooting kids in the head is NOT okay. U.S. troops, money and weapons should NOT be supporting it.
Follow the money all the way around.
Hasbara. "Propaganda isn't a dirty word."
The hell it isn't.

I don't know a lot about Lebanon, but I know this:
1) It's a war 🇮🇱 wants & 🇺🇲 doesn't.
2) It's a war that pulls the U.S. deeper into conflict in the ME and puts them at risk.
3) Biden's lead negotiator is a dual citizen who once served in the IDF.
4) It's a significant expansion of conflict that raises risk level around the world.
5) There was no Hezbollah until AFTER the Second Israeli Invasion of Lebanon in 1982.

As America gets into another war -- one that'll costlier and deadlier than the others -- listen to the veterans who served in Iraq.
This is from one former soldier, Noctis Draven:
"This was us, this was me. On my profile landing page is a small video of myself in Iraq. I was one of the few soldiers who managed to sneak a camera into the combat zones. I have over 20 hours of footage the world has never seen, I will never show it.
Maybe when I die I will release it. However this footage below is an example of what our time in Iraq was. We as Americans and Coalition forces invaded a land and people under false pretense of WMDs that were never found and dangers to America that did not exist.
There is a famous quote that states, "History is written by the victors." This is what the west has tried to deliver to the world. The truth is America and Coalition forces were the bad guys, we were not the good guys. What did we accomplish in our over 20 year invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan?
We killed over one million people and secured power for Israel along with losing over seven thousand American lives and leaving countless Americans permanently disabled.
I will not hold back the truth because now our American government seeks the same thing. They seek to send Americans into war for Israel and regional power but the soldiers will be told it is to defend America.
Ask any Iraq/Afghanistan veteran why we were there, ask them. Any veteran of these wars that are honest and worth their salt will tell you just as I do, we fought for nothing. There was no threat to America and the people were better off before we invaded.
Any veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan that says these invasions were justified is lying, I will absolutely stand by that and any bastard who was there who says otherwise I will call a liar to their face.
So here we are again, heros heading to the Middle East to fight and die for Israel. Yes, Israel, nothing less, nothing more, just Israel 🇮🇱.

Ron Paul comments on a recent poll showing the majority of Americans oppose using U.S. military to support Israel, an apartheid state.
Something to remember: Israel's leaders cultivated and supported Hamas for their propaganda purposes.
Listen to Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel. Smotrich, a far-right fascist. It's a game of delegitimization.
