Good EOn 10/07/2023 while I was performing Traffic clearance duty at Basheerbagh. At around 8.00pm I observed one Ambulance bearing No.TS09UA1380 belongs to CENTURY SUPER SPECIALITY HOSPITAL coming at high speed by wailing Emergency Siren from Cafe Bahar side towards Public Garden.
On which I immediately stopped other vehicles comming into its adjacent direction and gave it full clearence. But I saw that after going some distance, the ambulance stopped and the siren also went off. I got worried and ran to that ambulance When I reached there, I was surprised to see that in the name of medical emergency, the staff of the hospital was driving the Ambulance vehicle by wailing Emergency siren was Just so that they can reach the tea stall easily and soon as possible only to have some Mirchi Bhajji, Snacks etc.
When I asked the driver why he was playing siren without emergency, at first he had no answer but when he spoke, he spoke strangely that one of his nurses did not have lunch, so he thought it was an emergency and he had to reach the tea stall for Mirchi Bhajji as soon as possible. After this the ambulance halted at tea stall for more than 20 minutes
Even more shameful thing is that I found a senior doctor was present in that ambulance along with nurses. Despite of being a doctor, she is considering medical emergency as a joke and is using it as per her personal convenience. Hence I request to the concern authority to take a legal action against such negligence and missuse of special provision.
