Who knew that our magical mother-daughter trip would end this way…
Bali was all that everyone says it to be, blissful, serene, beautiful, heavenly, therapeutic, undeniably raw, spiritual, godly and a discovery at every part of the island!
We had the most magical trip mother & daughter! We often do these 1-on-1 parent child trips in our family and it benefits the children and it strength our relationships! This year was Bali with my eldest.
Sadly, on the last day in the island of the Gods, I received the devastating news of the passing of my father. It was sudden, unexpected, he simply didn’t wake up! Heart attack!
I questioned God, destiny, karma all of it! My dad was gone but my worries were for my mom! I couldn’t bear to imagine her having held my dad lifeless, trying to reanimate him! The trauma of that image in my mind kept me in worry, I couldn’t leave the island at that time of the night and my flight was the day after!
That morning I went to the Bali temple for prayer, for blessings from the gods and it gave me so much ch inner peace and strength! I realised worrying wasn’t going to change my present! I stopped worrying for those last moments on the island with my daughter and tried to embrace inner peace! In peace was my strength, in accepting what had happened! In accepting that it was in no one’s hand and that fate had its own course!
Bali you will always be remembered for your beauty, nature and spirituality! I don’t won’t to remember you through that sad ending but rather through all the energy, spirituality and beauty you offered my daughter and I during our visit!

Electrolytes are a game changer! If you haven’t tried you don’t know what you’re missing!
Comment “salt” if you’d like to know what electrolytes I take!
Drinking 2-3L water is great but hydration is more than that and face it, spending your day in the toilet isn’t fun for you or for the bladder!
Electrolytes are lost when we p*e, sweat, drink caffeine, are sick or have diarrhoea.
Food for thought…
1- don’t wait to get thirsty before you drink! Thirst signals from the body are indicating the start of dehydration
2- you don’t need to drink 1L in one go - that will force you to spend more time in the toilet flushing out minerals. Sipping water throughout the day is more beneficial, more effectively absorbed by the body
3- hydrating in the morning with electrolytes helps replace the 500mg of sodium we lose overnight
4- caffeine first thing in the morning increases diureses and salt loss
5- electrolytes include sodium, chloride, potassium, magnesium, calcium and should not contain sugar and sweeteners
6- having salt water reduces sugar cravings
