Post-storm sunset. This photo was taken looking to the east with the sun set behind me. Sunlight reflecting off the easterly clouds made for a great sunset here in western ND.

After years of capturing moments and selling prints, I've finally treated myself to a large-scale metal print. The 60x40 artwork now dominates the wall and makes the TV look small 😅. I captured this photo in the spring of 2025 in Banff National Park.

My prints can be seen and purchased here www.lightsoutimages.co

I got one of the best seats in the house to watch the sunrise at Moraine Lake thanks to Dani with . We had to wake up at 2am and hit the road by 3am to get to the lake. We used flashlights to navigate our way through the dark and find this location. We sat along the water as daylight set in. Turquoise Moraine Lake looks better in person than it does in photos. It's color comes from glacial runoff that carries fine rock particles into the lake. These particles refract light, creating an intense, bright blue hue. You will only see this color water in glacier fed lakes.

After taking several photos of this location, I packed up to make the hike out. There were dozens of people behind me. Now I know why we had to get there so early. We beat the rush, had the best seat "in the rocks", and didn't have to deal with anyone else blocking my view.

All my photos can be purchased as home or office decor. This photo can be seen here on my website www.lightsoutimages.co/products/sunrise-at-lake-moraine-banff-national-park
