Tiffany Thomas is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Los Angeles, CA. She began her career over 10 years ago as a drug and alcohol counselor helping those using substances. After a few years, she realized she wanted to work with others on their reason for why they were coping with drugs and alcohol and decided to pursue a degree in Clinical Psychology.
She has a small private practice and is passionate about helping others work on healing from grief, substance use, trauma and abusive relationships. She recently authored a chapter in the upcoming book “The Grief Experience”.

Kristi Capriglione, LPC, NCC is a licensed professional counselor with over 15 years of experience in the field of mental health. Throughout the course of her career, Kristi has worked with both those facing their own death as well as those who are grieving the loss of their loved one. Kristi earned a post-master’s certificate in Thanatology from Hood College and is trained as an end-of-life doula through the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA). Kristi is the proud owner of Daylight Grief, a private practice focusing on grief and loss in Denville, NJ. Here, she provides individual and group therapy for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one. At her practice, Kristi established a Hiking with Grief group that integrates mindfulness and ecotherapy into the grief counseling process. While not on the hiking trail, Kristi can be found on the water kayaking and paddle boarding or on land, searching for the best ice cream and pizza around.

Anticipating the loss of a loved one is called anticipatory grief. Our guest on the podcast this week, Cheri Davies shares her heartfelt story about her husband's journey with early-onset Alzheimer's and how she has been navigating her own grief journey in the process.

Cheri Davies, LCSW-R, is a highly skilled and experienced licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience in the field of mental health. She has a Master's degree in social work from Adelphi University and has worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, schools, and private practices.
Throughout her career, Cheri has developed a special interest and expertise in helping individuals with anxiety disorders, relationship and life transitions and supporting families going through divorce.
In 2019, Cheri founded Birch Hill Counseling, a private practice located in upstate New York. At Birch Hill Counseling, Cheri offers a range of services, including individual therapy, group therapy, and workshops. She takes a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy, working closely with each client to develop a personalized treatment plan that meets their unique needs and goals.
Cheri is also the owner of Cheri Davies Coaching, where she is focused on teaching and writing. Cheri is a contributing author in the Grief Experience, Holistic Mental Health Vol 1 and will also be an author is Holistic Mental Health Vol 2. She has collaborated with Kelly Daugherty from the Center for Informed Grief on divorce training for school personnel. Cheri is also a trained Reiki Master working with April Hannah of Hannah’s Healing.

She serves grieving folks through all types of loss experiences including death, infertility, divorce, job loss, health loss, and many others. Aware that reaching out to a professional for any reason takes courage and a willingness to be vulnerable, Carol holds a safe space for folks as they connect to their core sense of authenticity, vulnerability, courage, empathy, and belonging. She understands that we are the experts in our own lives and stories. Carol works with folks to support them in setting strong, flexible boundaries; understanding and moving through their grief process; finding supportive coping skills, and navigating through life transitions. Carol is also part of the teaching team for the Creative Grief Studio and is a Certified Creative Grief Support Practitioner.
