Adventures With Scaggs Adventures With Scaggs, your inspiration station for all things Food, Travel and Music. The aim is to bring you an experience beyond the plate.

I am Noelle Scaggs, some of you may know me as the female member of Alternative-Pop band, Fitz And The Tantrums. I created this vision of Adventures With Scaggs in 2014, in an effort to explore the local life of cities I would visit while on tour, or during my spontaneous vacations around the world. After years of keeping a diary of events, I decided to share my future stories and discoveries I f

ind when searching for a good meal. Adventures with Scaggs is a collection personal stories, recipes, restaurant and traveling tips. In addition to my own stories, my partner in crime Ryan Arnold is the, Divisional Wine Director of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises. Another like minded food enthusiast, Ryan contributes his vast knowledge of wine, explorations and travels throughout Europe, South America and the US., in search of the best producers, their vineyards and bottles. His one belief is that for every event in your life there is a wine fit for it. Our Journey Team Members include:
Artist and Drummer, Andrew Cook, known for his rhythmic talents behind the Pop-Duo Dan & Shay and his band Rocket To The Moon. Andrew shares his food finds while on tour across the US and Europe. Photographer and Director, Pat Tracy, a Nashville resident and frequent flier that has a strong passion for Crafted Cocktails. Together we hope to inspire you the readers to take your enjoyment of food, and turn them into memories worth sharing. Follow Adventures With Scaggs on Instagram or on Twitter

Last year, I thought long and hard about making a big life decision and pursuing a dream I’ve had since my first year of college: planting roots in Europe. At that time, I imagined I’d be somewhere in France — my first time in Paris blew my mind. I traveled all over that incredible country, from Saint-Brieuc to Marseille and beyond.

As I got older, I explored Spain, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, Norway, Greece, Romania, and Belgium. So many incredible places, but nothing has spoken to my heart as authentically as my experiences in Italy.

Yeah, I know, I know — another American girl enamored with the country everyone and their uncle seems to be falling in love with. Pssh… 🙄 But my first time here was back in 2013, before Instagram and TikTok influencers. My journey began in Venezia, Roma, Capri, the Amalfi Coast (Positano, Ravello, Amalfi), Sorrento, all the way down to Sicily (Palermo). I returned again in 2014 on tour with my band in Milano, in 2017 with friends, and in 2019 for a month-long solo adventure that took me from Firenze through Emilia-Romagna — Bologna, Modena, Polesine Parmense (near Lombardy).

In 2024, I found myself in Apulia: Marittima, Santa Maria di Leuca, Tricase, Castro Marina, Otranto, Lecce, Brindisi, up through Ostuni, Monopoli, Fasano; across the border to Matera and back through Tuscany — Moncioni, Grosseto, Maremma, Pisa — with multiple returns to Firenze. And here I am again today, this time sitting in my own apartment, which I purchased this past spring after realizing just how much this city, and this country, remind me of home.

My love for good food, family, friends, honoring history while embracing the present, and enjoying life without rushing through it has deepened my connection to Italian culture. I’m learning the language, relearning “adulting” in a new way — it’s challenging, but I’m so grateful to have made a dream come true.

Grazie mille ai miei amici per avermi aiutata in questo processo di trovare la mia casa qui a Firenze. Saluti al presente e al futuro. 🍾🥂🇮🇹🌞

Any Mushroom experts out there that can help me identify these? I have a bunch growing in my back yard where the grass is starting to grow. I’m sure they are not edible but would be nice to know since I have dogs out in the wilderness and many of these are hidden.

It is always a great time getting to hang with this wonderful human being, Amy aka Creative Director and founder of and her own online Fashion editorial. This photo was taken last night during my favorite shop in Paris Pop Up VIP dinner.

I’ve arrived in the northern region of Puglia, where the Adriatic Sea reigns supreme on the rocky shores of the Valle d’itria, and the Centro Storico of Ostuni, Monopoli, and Polignano E Mare come to life under the Sun’s peachy colored beams and luminous passageways. More in stories from today’s Adventure in Xoxo N.
