For the 67th issue of The Sirens Call Zine, our sub-theme is Halloween! In addition to general dark fiction and horror, we'll be on the lookout for anything about Samhain, Mischief Night, All Saints Day, or just fall themed tales in general. Pumpkins, autumn leaves, and apple cider are all on the table, as long as they're somehow twisted into a tale of horror! In addition to this issue's sub-theme, we're always looking for well-constructed tales and poetry that deliver solid horror and dark fiction. We'll be accepting short stories, flash fiction, drabbles, and poetry that fit within the horror/dark fiction genre. We welcome reprints as long as you hold the copyright to the piece. Your piece can be scary, sullen, emotive, freaky, elegant, have a dark satirical edge to it, or be outright terrifying beyond measure! - visit sirenscallpub.com for details....

We just released The Sirens Call Summer 2024 Zine and we'd like to say thank you to all those that made it a fantastic issue. This will take a few posts, so lets start with our Features!

A very warn thank you to Mike Lera who pens a film-related column for the Zine titled Mike Lera's Corridor of Horror - his take on Jason vs. 'Jason' is great fodder for those who love Friday the 13th copy-cat films!

A huge thank you to our Featured Artist, world-renowned photographer Johnny Joo, for allowing us to present 15 of his gorgeous images depicting the lost, forgotten, and abandoned!

We can't thank our Spotlight Poet enough for allowing us to shine a light on her and her work. Thank you very much, Alex Grehy! Keep an eye out for Alex's story featured in the Zine as well!

Our Featured Project, StokerVerse, is the brainchild of Chris McAuley and Darce Stoker. It's a world where all things come from or revolve around Bram Stoker. Games, TV series, books, manga, comics, collectibles - if it relates to the StokerVerse, there's a taste of it in there for you. A very grateful thank you to Chris McAuley and Darce Stoker for allowing us the opportunity to present their world to you!

A monstrous thank you to Douglas Ford, our Featured Author, who took us to Paris with him on an uncanny journey. Travel with him in his mind as his feet walk the streets with photographer Jerlin Ford. Thank you, Jerlin, for allowing us to use your beautiful shots of Paris in the article.

And finally, our Featured Novel, 'The Trick', by Douglas Ford. In issue 66, we're treated to a 4 page excerpt from The trick - just enough to wet your appetite for more!

The summer warmth is always welcome after a long winter, but what happens when it becomes unbearable? The 66th issue of The Sirens Call has a sub-theme of Can't Take the Heat. This theme is open to interpretation. Warm up that creative brain and show us your take on what it means! Scorching heat can come from many places—a burning fire, happenings in the kitchen, a witch's brew, global warming, a flame thrower, Hades, the Sun itself, or anything you can imagine! Or, it can take on other forms… It's up to you to cook up something good! Your piece can be scary, sullen, emotive, freaky, elegant, have a dark satirical edge to it, or drive fear right into our hearts! - visit sirenscallpub.com for details....
