RIP to the icon. The legend. The greatest of all time — The Immortal Hulk Hogan.

My dad told me the news this morning before I left for my trip, and I was hoping he was joking. I looked it up… and my heart sank. I’m still in shock.

I truly thought the Hulkster had more time left. He was full of life. Full of energy. I grew up a proud Hulkamaniac. Hogan was my hero. Even when he turned heel and joined the nWo — he was still my favorite.

One of the best days of my life was seeing the dream match: The Rock vs Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania X8 — my two all-time favorites in the same ring.

I met Hulk Hogan three times, but one moment stands above the rest. I was in costume as him — one of my signature cosplays — and when he saw me, he smiled and said:

"Thank you for keeping the dream alive."
Then he pulled out his phone… and took a picture with ME.
The Hulkster — wanted a photo with me. I was speechless.

The next day, I saw him out of costume and said, “Hey, I was the one dressed as you yesterday.” His eyes lit up and he shouted, “NO WAY!” Then turned to his daughter and said, “Hey Brooke, it’s him!”

That moment was caught on video and went viral on YouTube. Search: “Hulk Hogan meets Hulk Hogan” to see it.

Since then, while dressed up as him, I’ve heard countless stories from fans who met him, all saying how kind and generous he was. Some stories that would leave a tear in your eye.

Thank you, Terry Gene Bollea, for everything you gave to the wrestling world.
What Ali is to boxing, what Mickey Mouse is to Disney — you are to wrestling.

Rest in peace, brother.
We’ll see you in heaven.
