IndiGo, this week announced the launch of its ‘NextGen EFB’ program, equipping all ATR pilots with individual iPad 9th generation devices.

IndiGo introduced Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) on its ATR fleet in 2020, IndiGo has operated approximately 450,000 flights using this technology. Digitisation of EFB have yielded significant improvements in operational efficiency and a reduction of 15kg of paper from each ATR cockpit, contributing to a smaller carbon footprint.

DGCA has granted approval for the implementation of the Electronic Flight Folder (EFF) system by IndiGo Airlines. The EFF is a comprehensive digital platform that seamlessly digitizes and consolidates all critical flight plan documents and associated paperwork.

It serves as a unified repository for pre-flight briefing data, making it accessible to pilots via their Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) devices, such as iPads.

Akasa Air commenced operations in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, connecting it to Mumbai with daily direct flights.

The inaugural flight on 11th July 2024 departed Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai at 1705hrs IST and is scheduled to arrive at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi at 1850hrs AST.
