Trans-Q Television is an online video variety series exploring gender expression, sexuality, desire, and ecstatic acts of being. We are inviting artists and scholars to generate collaborative segments featuring stand-up theory, micro-documentaries, video art, animation, interviews, literary presentations, performance art, music, and much more. Our goal is to produce a humorous and provocative show
focused on q***r and trans issues and themes. We envision an online Dadaist Variety Show for the 21st Century, a truly warped combination of Lawrence Welk, Andy Warhol’s TV, Ernie Kovacs, Sonny and Cher, Flip Wilson, Carol Burnett, and Wigstock. Upcoming programs include:
• A talk show/performance with SSION (a smart, subversive, pop-song performance project led by Cody Critcheloe).
• An interview and performance by NYC-based performance artist and dancer Narcissister (prominent night-life figure at venues like 'The Box').
• A musical performance by NYC-based artist Sabrina Chap (a musician and editor of feminist literature).
• A reading of new work by Max Steele (NYC-based zine writer and performance artist).
• An all trans/drag soap opera, Mercury in Retrograde, written by Zackary Drucker and Rhys Ernst, directed by Rhys Ernst, and starring Zackary Drucker and members of Trans-Q TV. Zackary Drucker and Rhys Ernst are a Los Angeles-based couple whose individual and collaborative work addresses, respectively, trans-feminine and trans-masculine experience.
