🌿 Nature Journalling at Wollongong Art Gallery 🌿

This term at Wollongong Art Gallery, our creative writing sessions will explore the gentle practice of nature journalling.

Children will slow down and connect with the natural world through drawing, writing, and observation—capturing what they notice, imagine, and feel. From leaves and light to tiny creatures and changing seasons, each session invites curiosity, creativity, and calm.

Together we will blend:
✨ creative writing
🎨 sketching and art-making
🌱 nature observation
🎭 storytelling and imaginative play

These sessions support language development, confidence, and a deeper connection to the environment in a warm, supportive space.

✨ Berry Junior Creative Writers – Wednesdays at Berry School of the Arts ✨

Join us each Wednesday afternoon at Berry School of the Arts, 4.30–5.30pm, for a joyful and imaginative creative writing class designed especially for primary-aged children.

These weekly sessions are rich with storytelling, poetry, art-making, drama and improvisation. Children are invited to experiment with language, character, movement and visual expression in a warm, supportive environment that celebrates creativity in all its forms. We draw, perform, imagine, laugh and write — building confidence and expressive skills along the way.

As a dedicated homeschool mama and a PhD researcher in children’s literature, I am deeply committed to nurturing children’s voices and helping them see themselves as artists and authors. My aim is to create a space where creativity feels expansive, playful and meaningful.

✨ Creative Writing at Wollongong Art Gallery – Starting 25th February ✨

Hi Beautiful families,

I’m delighted to be launching a monthly creative writing workshop for our homeschool kids at Wollongong Art Gallery, beginning 25th February.

Held within the inspiring setting of the Gallery, these one-hour sessions invite children to engage with storytelling, poetry and imaginative writing in a structured and encouraging environment. The workshops are curriculum aligned and thoughtfully designed to strengthen literacy skills, creative thinking and confidence, while honouring each child’s unique voice.

As a dedicated homeschool mama and a PhD researcher in children’s literature, I bring both practical experience and academic insight to these classes. My aim is always to create a warm, respectful space where children feel capable, inspired and proud of their work.

Good morning creative families of Berry and sourrounds. Our beautiful art and creative writing class starts up again this afternoon for term 3 and we would love to welcome some new families. It’s a drop in class open between 4-6, you can stay for 2 hours or drop in and out for a shorter time. The cost is a contribution to our generosity jar 💖 Berry community library (the friendship room at Berry uniting church. Please feel free to reach out with any questions 💖
