Turkish musician and filmmaker Ece Era announces the deluxe edition of her 2024 album Bedside Tunes, titled ‘Bedside Tunes (Lights On)’. The expanded release includes four reimagined tracks produced by Ece herself and is out August 22nd. The first single, “I’m Here,” is out today!

This deluxe edition was born out of an unexpected return to Turkey after unforeseen visa complications forced her to leave Belgium.

On her vibrant/mournful electronic debut, Bedside Tunes, Ece Era challenges cultural ideologies, identity structures, and her difficult past with tracks crafted during introspective moments before sleep or upon waking.

Kedr livanskiy returns with a new album today!

Her fourth studio album 'Myrtus Myth' is a collaboration with producer and visual artist Flaty, where she draws on mythologies both public and personal to craft an expansive experimental pop album and Dante-esque journey through the self. Together, Kedr and Flaty transcend dance structure completely, incorporating live instruments and new vocal techniques to bridge influences from vaporwave to Kate Bush to Phil Collins.

Of the new album, Kedr says:

"Working on an album is an exploration of yourself. Making a decision to write an album is like an invitation to wake up; an invitation to get to know yourself, to find out who you are and what truly excites you - through sound. This is a discipline of the spirit, cleansing the channels through which inspiration enters the blood.

The last couple of years have been incredibly difficult for many people on earth, and for me in particular, a lot has changed. This album is a reflection on painful topics through the prism of the mythical, dreamlike and otherworldly. But this work itself, for me as a person, is an escape from reality into the world of the nooks and crannies of the subconscious, dreams, the transcendental and fantastic.

The music in this album is inspired not only by life itself and musical references, but in many ways by literature and literary images, myths, and poetic symbols. All together it forms an Odyssey - the hero's journey. The album is imbued with the idea of a deep kinship of the soul with the universe, the awareness of all-unity, the search for a place for a person in the cosmic and personal. Love as salvation."

Do you ever feel like retreating from a world that terrifies you?

Today, Kedr livanskiy shares 'Agata Dreams', the latest single from her upcoming album Myrtus Myth, out March 7th.

Inspired by Mylène Farmer, 'Agata Dreams' is a downtempo ‘90s electro-pop escape, following the album’s hero as they retreat from a world that terrifies them. Haunting yet hopeful, it captures the longing for connection amidst disillusionment.

Kedr says of the track: “Agata Dreams” exists in the spirit of ethno-electronic tracks from the ’90s, such as Mylène Farmer. This song is obviously escapist; the lyrical hero does not want to be in a reality that scares and breaks him. Sleep, in this context, is a detachment from real life—a retreat into an inner reality, an inner eclipse. The hero has no desire to be part of the world as it is today.”

‘Let It Grow’ is a dissociative surrender to pleasure. Over a sensual synth line, the song hangs heavy in the air, unmoving like the heat of an overpacked club, and the only way out is up.
