Hi all

We hope you enjoyed a restful and exciting festive season! With the new year come new opportunities.

We begin our year with committee interviews for both The Auricle and The Drip. If you are passionate about writing, photography, editing, ethics, graphic design or journalism or even administration, web design, or management, please send your Curriculum Vitae, along with a short paragraph (250-400 words) describing why you would like to be on our team, to [email protected] (subject line: COMMITTEE INTERVIEWS).

We will respond with the time and place of your interview.
Interviews are to take place over 25th and 26th January.

Until then, please like The Drip page and kickstart your year with some inspiration by reading about what it took to win the Nobel Prize in Physiology & Medicine in 2014. Perhaps make a New Year's resolution to be healthier by cutting down on sugar and fast food; read about a potential 'sin tax' for sugary "treats" and the issue of obesity in South Africa.

A warm invitation to all medical students and healthcare professionals to watch the online video discussion “Let’s talk about Ebola” as part of the ‘Kick Ebola Out!’ campaign in Africa On Wednesday, 20 August 2014 at 17:00 GMT - 18:30 GMT as a Google Hangout, streamed live via YouTube

The discussion will be presented by a panel of 10 medical students from across Africa sharing their personal experiences with Ebola.

The panel consists of members from medical student associations that include: Sierra Leone, South Africa, Guinea, Uganda, Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania.

The panel of 10 African medical students will discuss and answers questions about how Ebola has impacted their lives in the healthcare profession.

All viewers can join and leave the session at any point. It will be recorded on YouTube so viewers can watch it later when they want to. IF you are watching live THEN as a viewer you can submit questions (anonymously / with your Google account name) - the most popular question as voted by the viewers will be answered by the panel of medical students.

As a viewer, to submit or vote on a question -> click on the 'Q&A' banner that will be visible in the bottom left corner of the screen while the discussion is live streaming.

Presented by a panel of Medical Student Associations from across Africa! Including: Sierra Leone, South Africa, Guinea, Uganda, Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania.
