Bernie says he'll buy coffee (or whatever you're drinking) at Yankton's Muddy Mo's Coffee House to the first person not named Steve or Jerry who identifies all four of the folks in this photo. I don't think Google or even ChatGPT is going to help you with all four. Name the location of where the photo was taken and Bernie says he'll even buy the bagels. Can you imagine people asking you the same question 785 times? Bernie can. When Bernie Hunhoff and his wife, Myrna, first started the magazine, they were prepared to answer the question, "What will South Dakota Magazine be about?" Little did they know hundreds of people would ask that question.

Thankfully, the magazine has been doing the talking ever since, telling stories of the land, our people and all the beautiful things that make South Dakota special. As we continue to celebrate our 40th year in print, we want to give a special thanks to Bernie and Myrna for seeing things most people don't, and sharing those things that led to 40 years of wonderful stories.
