Start fresh…
I know it’s hard but throw all your preconceived notions aside. Discard all you’ve been told by educators. Your parents and grandparents were influenced by events of their day…ignore what they passed along to you and judge things by the events of your day. It’s clean slate time, be you liberal or conservative or something in between or beyond. So, engage only your common sense while you read the below. And please, verify all with good ol’ Google research, if you believe it can be trusted.
Just look at the facts.
The USA is $36,000,000,000,000 in debt. You say “so what” we can print all the money we need. If you have any knowledge of history take a look at Argentina who embraced that same philosophy. Break out your wheelbarrow as you may need it to haul enough paper money to the bakery to grab a loaf of bread.
Little matter what DOGE is able to accomplish government spending remains at a horrendous rate. Government spending is about 14 times higher than in the 80s. Dept is exploding 36 times larger than during the Reagan era. Trillions more will be added this year. The printing presses are smoking. The money supply increased from 4 trillion during the pandemic to over 20 trillion. Your individual debt, household debt is over 18 trillion. You think that’s an astronomical number? The total of all debt, government, business and consumer, is now leaving 100 trillion in the dust. Oh yeah, so what, the government tells us unemployment is low. The fact is more than 100 million U.S. adults are considered to be “not in the labor force.” As I’ve said time and time again, statistics are only as good as who manipulates them.
One thing we know and can watch minute by minute is the price of gold, the fallback commodity that has been the way to gauge faith in money or the economy for decades if not centuries. Since the Federal Reserve was created in 1913 to control such events the value of the U.S. dollar has declined nearly 99%. And gotten worse since we went off the gold standard in the 70s. And ounce of gold then was $35 an ounce. It’s now over $3,000.
Trump and DOGE are our only hope to turn this around and I’m not betting the farm on the odds of that, particularly since so many disparage their efforts.
