It’s off to the Whitby Motown and Soul weekend for me
Where I’m playing a two hour set at the Whitby Way ( just opposite the train station)
My set is going to concentrate on the roots of a northern soul which will include sounds from the Plebs in Halifax , Twisted Wheel in Manchester,Hole in the Wall Bradford , String O Beads Bradford
Lots of these tunes crossed over and we played at Wigan Casino
 it’s also goes without saying that will also include lots of Motown Magic. From Mike Motown McKay.

So here’s a story that I’m going to title
Parts 1& Parts 2
Back in the 60s quite a few 7inch singles were released with part 1 on the A side and part 2 on the B side
James Brown was a master of this .
So when I bought the record, I asked dealer for two copies . This way I could double deck them and phase them in without a gap, so I guess this was an early form of doing a 12 inch single version
With this technique in mind, I also often bought two copies of a record that wasn’t part 1&2 So that I could do the same technique on the twin turntables
The guys dancing were expecting the song to finish, but it didn’t
Any other DJs or Ex DJs can say they did the same
