*JKPC Youth Leader Faheem Mircha Strongly Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack on Tourists**

Political Youth Leader of JKPC Faheem Mircha has strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist attack on innocent tourists in the picturesque town of Pahalgam, Kashmir. The incident, which occurred today, has left several tourists feared dead, sending shockwaves across the region.

In a statement issued to the press, Faheem Mircha expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the brutal act of violence targeting civilians. He offered heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and urged authorities to take swift and decisive action.

POLICE CONTINUES ON SMUGGLING_

*Handwara, April 20, 2025:*
In its ongoing efforts to combat illegal timber smuggling, Handwara Police acted on specific intelligence and conducted raids at two locations in the Darashpora area of Handwara. During the operation, a total of 28 illegally felled timber logs were seized on the spot.

Accordingly, FIR No. 80/2025 has been registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Section 26 of the Indian Forest Act at Police Station Handwara, and further investigation is underway.

The accused individuals involved in the case have been identified as:

1. Showkat Ahmad Mir,
S/O Ab Rehman Mir,
R/O Dureshpora, Handwara

2. Mohd Amin Tantray,
S/O Habibullah Tantray,
R/O Dureshpora, Handwara

It is noteworthy that this marks the second consecutive successful operation by Handwara Police in the area this week. In an earlier operation, multiple locations in Darashpora were raided, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of illicit timber, which was later handed over to the Forest Department for necessary action.

Handwara Police remains steadfast in its commitment to protect the region's forest resources and urges citizens to report any suspicious activities related to forest produce or environmental violations.

Sajad Lone demands relief package for Kashmir's farmers after devastating hailstorm

Srinagar, April 19:J&K Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara Sajad Lone has urged the government to provide financial assistance to horticulturists affected by recent severe hailstorms that caused widespread damage across Kashmir.

In a statement released today, Lone described the destruction as having "wreaked havoc in different parts of Kashmir and left behind a trail of devastation and destruction," highlighting "massive losses for the horticulture sector."

He has urged the government to develop a comprehensive relief package "to help the horticulturists sustain and survive this loss."

Pertinently, Lone added that the unexpected hailstorm has dealt a significant blow to Kashmir's apple orchards and other fruit crops, which form the backbone of the region's agricultural economy.
