The Grade 9 and 10 students attended a health seminar titled “Be Smart, Don’t Start: Smoking and Va**ng Are Dangerous to Your Health,” earlier today, July 14, 2025.

Dr. Glizeria Sigue-Ramirez, MD, the school physician, led the discussion, focusing on the harmful effects of smoking and va**ng and promoting healthy lifestyle choices. The students actively participated, especially during the Open Forum.

At the end of the program, free vitamins were distributed to all students and teachers present.

Earlier today, July 14, 2025, the Office of the Prefect of Student Affairs officially launched a new project in support of the school's Laudato Si' advocacy during the Morning Assembly.

The Prefect of Student Affairs discussed the purpose of the activity and shared practical tips on how each class can care for the plants provided. Following the assembly, all class Vice Presidents gathered at the St. Bede Courtyard for the distribution of the plants.

This initiative aims to instill in the Junior High School community the value of stewardship, highlighting the shared responsibility to care for creation and remain committed to sustainability.

The Grade 10 students of San Beda University Junior High School officially started their research journey for Academic Year 2025–2026 through a Research Orientation organized by the JHS Research Committee.

With the theme “Empowering Young Minds: A Research Orientation for Holistic and Transformative Learning,” the orientation aimed to equip students with the knowledge and values they need to become responsible researchers.

Topics discussed during the seminar included the Amended Policies on the Use of AI in SBU, the Research Roadmap and expectations for the year, the Research Ethical Codes and Standards, and the Rights of Research Participants.

Throughout the orientation, students showed enthusiasm and attentiveness, demonstrating their readiness to conduct research that contributes not only to their personal growth but also to societal development through innovation and ethical inquiry.

Last July 10, 2025, the Junior High School unit of San Beda University held its Club Open House and Club Sign-Up Day, welcoming Grade 7 and new students from Grades 8 to 10 to the school’s co-curricular community.

During the Open House, each club prepared interactive activities to give students a glimpse of the projects, programs, and opportunities that await them as members.

Following this, the new students visited the club booths and formally signed up for the organizations of their choice.

This event marks the beginning of another year of active student involvement and leadership.

The first integration meeting for new Bedans was held last July 9, 2025.

Grade 7 students and new students from Grades 8 to 10 met their integrating classes and engaged in interactive games prepared and designed to foster camaraderie and the spirit of community.

This meeting also served as one of their planning and preparation days for the upcoming Pre-Integration Dress-Up event and Integration performance on July 21 and 25, 2025.

Last June 26, 2025, Grade 7 students and new students from Grades 8 to 10 attended the Phase 1 of the Club Recruitment which focuses on the presentation of Co-Curricular, Administrative, and Special Clubs of the Junior High School Unit.

The event featured live performances and pre-recorded videos that introduced each club's vision, mission, and goals, giving students an overview of the various opportunities available to them.

With this initial orientation, students are now set to participate in the Club Open House on July 3, 2025, where they can explore each organization and decide which club best aligns with their interests and talents.

A Meaningful Welcome at ROARientation 2025!

On June 18 and 19, San Beda’s Jarrow Hall buzzed with excitement as Grades 7–10 students joined ROARientation 2025. The two-day event featured sessions on academic and deportment expectations, an overview of student activities, and inspiring sharing from teachers and students.

These moments helped welcome both new and returning Bedans into a community of learning, discipline, and pride.

Stepping into the Bedan Life

June 17, 2025 marked a memorable day as the IBED Guidance & Counseling Office, in partnership with the JHS Student Council, welcomed new JHS Bedans to the campus. Through a short but meaningful orientation at the SBU IBED Auditorium and a fun-filled campus tour, students were introduced to the vibrant culture and caring community that define the Bedan experience.
