Exactly one year ago, Italy was entering the first-ever lockdown. Many other countries followed shortly, for what represented a dramatic, unique and unforgettable experience. At sounDesign, together with valeria caputo launched The Sound Outside, a call to fellow sound professionals to witness this moment recording 'outside their windows'. We celebrate the first anniversary of this unique moment sharing a short excerpt of the numerous works that sound designers from all over the world shared with us, while we plan more ways to transform this project in a memento to the future, as it deserves. The short collection presented in the video has been selected by musicaelettronica.it among the works representative of this moment and has also be presented at the International Conference on Computational Creativity - ICCC and at Sounds of the Pandemic Tempo Reale in 2020. We're happy to announce that a proposal for a sound installation based on material collected through The Sound Outside has been accepted at the International Conference on Computational Creativity which will take place next September (hopefully face to face!) in Coimbra, Portugal.
