This feels like a lifetime ago (2005)! Sometimes, people don’t believe me when I share that I’m a combat Veteran who served almost 2 years in Iraq. There’s a certain idea of what a Veteran is supposed to look like, but veterans come in all forms. Women serve our country; Black people serve our country; immigrants serve our country; mothers serve our country. I am all of those things, and I proudly served our country.

I’m so excited for my client and her fiancé! This was her first and forever Broom List match. From the start they were both focused on their shared values and having fun together. That led to him surprising her with the most beautiful engagement and a lifetime together 💍

A lovely stranger took this pic of us and said we looked like such a happy couple, so she captured the moment. The best part is that it feels even better than it looks ✨

Current mood: “moment 4 life” by Nicki Minaj + “I was here” by Beyoncé. I’ve learned that my superpower is living life to the fullest. I take risks. I follow my heart. I live without regrets. And it’s that superpower, the love of my family, and the support of my friends that has led me here; to happiness and gratitude.

Over the last 6 weeks, I’ve traveled around the country reconnecting with friends who generously opened their homes and their lives to me. I found myself saying yes to every offer they made…Want to pick my kids up from school? Yes. Want to come meet some of my other friends? Yes. Want to go to the club? Yes. Want to drive around looking for the best bbq? Yes. Want to Watch Love is Blind? Yes. Want to workout? Yes. I was open and had no expectations. It was a glorious way to live that allowed me to just be.

I stayed with single friends, couples, married friends, friends with families in small towns and big cities. Each stay was different but I always felt right at home. I also saw some of their struggles that you can’t get from weekly FaceTime check ins and I shared mine. The end of 2021 was a struggle…today feels full of possibilities.

This picture is one of the few pics I took on my trip and I was barely on social media. For the first time in a long time, I felt present.

I got everything I needed from the trip and so much more ❤️

Thank you for being with me on this journey of life .snyder10

I once did an episode on my podcast called, “Breakups Suck and Mine is No Different.” I talked about the shock of being broken up with, the embarrassment of having to share the news, and the uncertainty of the future. This was in 2016, long before the words coronavirus and pandemic were part of our normal vocabulary. A breakup during the pandemic can exacerbate the isolation we are already feeling but it can also create an opportunity to heal in new ways. Check out my tips in .

Also, I’m having a pinch me moment! Appearing in The New York Times was one of my goals this year and I’m so happy that it’s actually happening! Thank you

Hi, I’m Tennesha and I’m a former ghoster 🙋🏽‍♀️

I now realize how horrible and immature that was. In my twenties, I would go on a date, quickly decide he was not my type, then when he reached out I would ignore the call or text and tell myself “he’ll take the hint.”

I was avoiding being honest and trying not to hurt his feelings…but the real hurt came from having no answers, being completely confused, and replaying exactly what happened (in an effort to understand where things went wrong); don’t put people through that!

You are not for everybody and everybody is not for you and that’s okay! And it’s okay to say it.

Thanks for getting my thoughts on dealing with ghosting (link in story)
