In The United States, the hours of 9 to 5 are considered to be a full days work. Depending on if that work is fulfilling is undeniably directly correlated to human happiness. We all hope and strive for our jobs to be fulfilling and ultimately bring us the greatest of happiness. However, that isn't always the case. When we get off work (whether we love it or hate it) we find ourselves wanting to relax. Whether this be over a cold beer at a local bar downtown, going to see the newest flick, exercising, or going out to see live music with friends, this is where we can rest and enjoy life's offerings.
A city, growing at the speed of Charleston, SC is undoubtedly bringing in more talented artists as well as the exponential rent increases each year. How do we balance this? The reality of the matter is that it's tough to keep up financially. We do what we can by packing on other jobs. Lots of jobs. But, what is important to remember is that these are stepping stones to get us to where we want to be.
With the support and encouragement from our community and the 9 to 5 team, maybe we can make our 9 to 5's our passion. So in the meantime, let's share the stories, get to know each other a bit better, and continue to support and collaborate.
