Surprise! I’ve been quietly podcasting for over a year!

In November 1st 2024- after 320 episodes of The 5 Minute Mom Podcast- I felt it was time to press pause. It was honestly one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever done. I had poured so much into it over 8 years and that podcast had not only opened beautiful doors for me professionally- it deeply shaped me personally through countless hours of writing and interviewing.

But, less than a year later- God opened a stunning door for me.

After crossing paths in the most organic way, a recently retired pastor of a church we admired in town (Rick Dunn from Fellowship Church) asked me to join him for a podcasting and communication role in building a new ministry- White Horse Leadership!

I was excited to join him because of his reputation. However, in the last couple of years- as we’ve prayed, planned, built & produced- I’m profoundly more excited now that I’ve seen Rick and his beautiful wife Teresa minister to others in daily life.

I’m profoundly more excited because of the team the Lord has put around us. I’m profoundly more excited because of DEPTH of Kingdom work that God has invited me into.

Rick’s heart is to coach, consult, and pour into LEADERS (in both ministry and the marketplace) and he’s the best I’ve ever seen.

I’m excited because I’ve seen first hand how much pastors and leaders need someone to not just give them strategies- but to help them lead themselves and care for their hearts & relationships. White Horse tends to the inner formation that shapes who a leader is, not just what they do. This is freedom from pressure and an invitation to lead as worship.

And- we not only have one podcast- WE HAVE THREE!!!

I attended a media conference in 2019 and the session speaker gave this advice about Instagram: “Treat her like a jealous girlfriend and you’ll win. She always needs your attention.”

I’m breaking up with her. I’m tired.

I’m not tired of encouraging moms.
I’m not tired of studying or teaching scripture.
I’m not tired of discipleship or edifying conversations.
I'm not tired of praying for our children.

I’m just so tired of the noise. And, I’m tired of adding to it.

Substack is a platform that feels quieter to me. A return to the writer I want to be- instead of a marketing expert. I'll be sharing there regularly and using the other social platforms to simply share what's posted there.

Most importantly- I can write to the people who cheer me on, who care about my upcoming books, and want to hear my voice. And if that's you- I'd love for you to join me!

Did you know that in a recent survey, the majority of Christian women admitted that they struggle with unhealthy comparison?

Comparison is one of the greatest giants facing moms today. But, When you renew your mind, truly know the character of God, and boldly walk in your spiritual identity--you can use what used to paralyze and intimidate to mold you, stretch, and strengthen you.

Don’t compare to compete. Compare to grow:

-How can this person’s gift inspire me to grow in my own gift?
-How does this person make my life more beautiful?
-What can I learn from this person’s success?
-God makes beautiful creatures! There’s an abundance of beauty, love, and celebration because we are all fearfully and wonderfully made.
-How can this person reveal any heart issues or challenges I need to take to Jesus?
-We are the body of Christ. We can all thrive TOGETHER!

I think we can all agree that we want our children to be full of joy! Right? But, I think I’m too often guilty of confusing joy and happiness- temporary wonderful feelings or circumstances- or maybe even a jolly disposition.

What if we prayed for our children to have MORE than a feeling that can come and go.

What if we started praying for our children to have a deep, abiding, unrelenting JOY that is present in all circumstances (good and hard.) A joy that sees light in even the darkest situations. A joy that cannot be taken away because of the gospel and the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ-as the Savior of their life.

Join me today as we believe for our children to be FULL OF JOY!

I'm not going to lie, friends. These snow days are a mixed bag for me. There's been sweet family time- but also not a lot of breaks. As someone who thrives in routine, calm, and order- I have been struggling tremendously in the wake of school cancellations, constant adjustments, and a lack of routine. I hit a wall yesterday that forced me to stop and reset. I wish I would have done it sooner. I pray this helps you too!

Beloved listeners and priceless friends,

After 320 episodes, hundreds of amazing guests and interviews, dozens of amazing new friends and co-hosts, thousands of hours of editing, and 8 of the most beautiful and edifying years of my life- the Lord is leading me to press pause on The 5 Minute Mom Podcast.

Pressing pause allows me to lean more fully into my local church, dive into some NEW and exciting projects, support my lead pastor husband to the fullest, and intentionally pour into my ever-growing children!

Right before launching this podcast, I had the most vivid dream. I was standing in a room full of pregnant moms! They were all so radiant. They stood in hospital gowns, waiting to become mothers. They just kept saying, “We are so grateful you are here with us.” My dream ended there. However, if I could extend that dream for a few moments- I’d hug them all in tears and let them know that the most profound blessing was ALL MINE.

Thank you for allowing me to learn alongside you, to find encouragement in my darkest days, and to grow spiritually beyond measure. This has been the greatest gift- and you gave it to me by listening so faithfully.

Moving forward:
-I have some amazing NEW projects in the works and new CHILDREN’S BOOKS in the wings. So, this isn’t goodbye forever.
-I'll still be sharing motherhood thoughts, new content, and books on my page Audra Smith Haney
-The podcast will remain on all your favorite platforms, and I may occasionally pop in if time allows.
