A few months ago, I filmed a sizzle trailer for a feature film I’ve been trying to make for years with my good buddy and writer/producer partner, Zach Bradshaw. We wrote it during some of the darkest times of both of our lives, I am glad to be on this side of it, and one day I truly hope we can make this movie. Don’t worry ma it has a good ending 😊

In the meantime, here are a few photos that my step-son took, I think they’re awesome!

The night before we had to shoot I got a call from my lead actor that he had Covid but the train had already left the station and we needed to shoot this sizzle, so I went ahead and stepped in. Haven’t always been the biggest fan of being in front of the camera and it was definitely a challenge doing both sides, but also a very rewarding experience.

Thanks to my amazing DP and creative partner on a lot of projects and his great team who really stepped up on this. Thanks to - makeup. And my wife who helped on so many different aspects, including helping clean up that dang blood 🩸. Fun times making movies 🎥

Last week our family lost my grandmother on my father’s side Martha Ham, Rest In Peace grandma. I have complicated feelings about her to be honest, just a difficult relationship for me and am still processing my feelings about it. But a few days after her passing my parents sent me a box, and I’m floored, newfound treasures we had no idea existed.

My grandfather, Norman Neely Ham, was a World War 2 veteran and was wounded in combat in Belgium, he lost his thumb. He was an infantryman with the 3rd Armd. Div, Spearhead. As I look through the box I’m finding the “cheerful” letters from the Army to my great grandma Ruby Ham (Neely’s mother) sharing that Neely was wounded in combat but is doing well and will return home soon. What a horrible letter to receive as a mother, Neely was 18 when he was drafted.

Also in the box are love letters from Neely to my grandmother during his time at war. Seemed to be the only thing that got him through such trauma. So many other little treasures too.

My uncle, my dad’s oldest brother Norman Jr., served in the Navy during the Vietnam war. There’s also all the letters from my grandmother to my uncle while he served in Vietnam. I also found that Uncle Norman was a weather man in the Navy and carried a Navy issue film still camera! Also got his Vietnam medals, sadly he passed in the 80s. RIP uncle.

Amazing stuff in here and I’ve just started looking through it. I’ve been often humbled in my life and this is another example of trying to see people in a different light, RIP Grandma Ham.

If you’re interested in watching a film I made about our family, watch On The Road: Warren Ham, link in bio.

We had a special private screening of our new documentary Zzaslow K-427 at Lackland Air Force Base, for the TSA K-9 and Military Working Dog community there.

We brought together several special people from the film. Dr. Stewart Hilliard who started the breeding program at Lackland in the 90s and helps tell the story of how important these dogs are in our film.

We also got to screen the film for Suzanne Johnson and her family who were Zzaslow’s fosters for his puppy years.

I want to thank Chris “Preacher” Dion for arranging everything and giving us a complete tour of the K9 training areas. Thank you to our gracious hosts at Lackland, I think we did a great job celebrating and lifting up the stories of the Military Working Dog community. Thanks to

Come watch our film at the World Premiere of Zzaslow K-427, Sunday June 22nd at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood at Dances With Films ’25. Get your tickets in my link tree in bio. I’m really excited to share this one with everyone!

The Attack on the Fourth of July was a film, I made for the Army and the 4th Brigade 25th Infantry Division (Airborne) while I was stationed on FOB Salerno in Khost, Afghanistan. It tells the harrowing story of a company of soldiers who would fight off an attack by the Taliban where they were almost overrun.

That day, we lost two brave young soldiers, Aaron Fairbairn and Justin Casillas, they were 19 and 20. I did not know them personally, but I think about them often. This film was a humble attempt to show what happened that day. Years later, Justin‘s dad would send me an email thanking me for making the film. Those men who fought on that day were warriors for this country and fought heroically. War is hell.

It’s really was an amazing opportunity that let me sit down and share their story and the film a bit. You can check it out at my website, link in bio. Originally, I made the film for the Army and years later All Warrior Network helped me re-edit it. Justin and Aaron we honor you.

Spent time with my Afghan brothers over the last few days in San Antonio, Texas. We had the amazing opportunity to screen my new feature documentary Zzaslow K-427 in a private showing for the dog handlers’s community at Lackland Air Force Base. A lot more details about our upcoming film soon, but I wanted to share a special time we got to have with Saifullah and Ismail whom were the subject of my last feature Interpreters Wanted.

Brooke and I had a lot of fun moments with them this week, but having them watch my new film was truly special. Additionally, I got to see Saifullah’s home and got to see his family again, it has been several years, they’ve gotten so big! We have been through a lot together, and I’m so proud of where they are. Truly, some of the most hard-working, dedicated, and patriotic people I’ve ever met. They took us around San Antonio and Saifullah’s wife also made us such a great Afghan meal.

Ismail shared a really funny story with me: He said he had recently been driving down toward the border in Texas and up till now had never been pulled over by the police. But for some reason that day he got pulled over three times in the same area by three different police officers because he was “suspicious.” He told me “I thought they may have mistaken me for someone else.” So I asked the officer, “why are you pulling me over? What have I done?” And then told her, “if you’d like to know who I am, you can google my name.” The officer went back to her car and googled him, she read about our film Interpreters Wanted and then when she came back, she asked to take a picture with him. “She then let me go very politely.”

I was dying laughing when he told Brooke and I but also very proud. It’s important for people who are amazing to be seen and heard and I hope I have honored their story and legacy. That officer did the right. Saifullah, Ismail and their families continue to inspire me and I’m so thankful to have them in my life. We need to never forget our Afghan Allies.

We will be sharing the details about our upcoming World Premiere of Zzaslow K-427 soon!

I’ve always loved dogs but I would have never called myself a “dog person.” But today, I must confess they are truly “man and woman’s best friend.” we adopted Benny about six months ago from a shelter and he has definitely been a handful but more so he has filled our home with that much more love.

Last year we started to notice that Libby really enjoyed having doggy friends around whenever we watched our family and friend’s dogs. We had a good feeling she really needed a pal. Brooke started looking for dogs and I was particularly fond of the Armenian Gampr, primarily because I’ve always wanted a big dog, but the story behind this breed was special to me because they came from the ancient lands of Armenia.

Benny now fits right at home and he and Libby are best friends. He makes us laugh and he loves hugs. I never thought I would do a social media post talking about how much both of these dogs have helped my mental health but here I am. And of course I’ve seen the power of dogs helping Veterans and so many others going through trauma. They’re so cool.

Another interesting aspect for us is that getting Benny also coincided with me finishing my next feature documentary, Zzaslow K-427 . The film is about the longest tenured and decorated post-9/11 K9 Mine-Detection team and how this special dog saved countless lives over the course of three tours to Afghanistan, while also saving lives of those around him once returning home. More on that to follow soon.

Anyways, here’s to all our dogs!

A short film I made for 1K my first semester at “Frank Comes Home” can now be watched on the streaming platform courtesy of USC. Made with my partner’s and Sharon Park. And who did a great job playing Frank Capra. Also cameos by and and filmed at .

I was never able to fully do what I wanted on this film so I also made a “Redux” version back in 2020 for kicks, you can watch that on my link tree. (I like my redux one better 🤓).

I love this film for what it’s meant to me. FCH is the short story about how Frank Capra developed the first film he made when he returned from World War II , “It’s A Wonderful Life.” For many this is considered the greatest Christmas movie of all time and is personally one of my favorite films. My goal was to share a small peek at the creative mind behind that film and his impetus to make it.

A real fun thing that happened to me on this journey was I got to meet Frank Capra III who is Frank Capra’s grandson and the family signed off on the film so that I could make it. It’s definitely a student film, but I’m still proud of it.

Another cool fact is “Frank Comes Home” was an official selection in the 2015 G.I. film festival fast-forward to this year, I was able to take the top award with my film “Interpreters Wanted.” Always grinding, Fight On!

Check them out, Merry Christmas!
