Twisp: The Power of Community It’s small-town living unlike any you’ve ever seen. It’s Twisp. There are no fast-food restaurants, big-box stores, or smart-phone distributors in Twisp. Instead, you'll find local residents pitching in to solve some of the biggest problems that confound even big city experts.

In a society that has become increasingly polarized and confrontational, how do some communities manage to get along?

Welcome to Twisp, a tiny town nestled in the heart of the Methow Valley in North Central Washington. Comprising an eccentric mix of old-time farming folk, urban refugees, outdoor enthusiasts, and aspiring artists, Twisp boasts its own independent radio station, newspaper, playho

use, orchestra, library, and a rich array of other cultural options—from primitive skills gatherings to poetry readings. Though small in number, the residents of Twisp don't shy away from big issues, like affordable housing and childcare, Native-white reconciliation, and public vs. private land use issues. Though scarred by back-to-back summers of devastating wildfires, the residents rallied to take charge of its own recovery efforts.

If you're feeling as if our country is hopelessly divided, spend 40 minutes enjoying the can-do, community-minded spirit of the residents of Twisp. You'll be glad you did.

A Summer Solstice celebration coming to Twispworks🥳

We’re marking 60 years of the Grateful Dead the only way we know how — with a full-blown local love fest of music, mountains, and mayhem (the good kind).

This event is made possible by the incredibly generous sponsorship of Rosauers Supermarkets. Very special thank you to them for making this a reality!

Join us Saturday, June 21st at TwispWorks from 6–10PM for an unforgettable night featuring musicians from:

Zonky • Crunk Monks • Danville • Jazz Train • Shakedonia • Three Piece Suit • Goat Knuckles • Loose Notes • and more.

It’s free, it’s family-friendly! Bring a lawn chair, a friend, and a pint of Cherry Garcia.
