Charter of Rights and Freedoms signed 35 years ago today!

April 17, 1982: 2017 is the 35th anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. On a rainy day in April, Queen Elizabeth II and Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau sign the 1982 Proclamation of the Constitution Act, which includes the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
