He successfully defended his doctoral thesis titled: “The Terror of Lying in Politics and the Turndown of Public Trust in Governance: A Contextual Reading of Hannah Arendt’s Crises of the Republic,” on September 25, 2026.

His research examines how political lying undermines factual truth, erodes public trust and weakens political legitimacy and civic participation.

Renowned Cameroonian-American surgeon Dr Mathias Asongwei Lawrence (MAL) Fobi has been honoured by the Cameroon English Language Newspaper Publishers’ Association ( ) for decades of medical excellence and his continued contribution to .

The 80-year-old surgeon, who left Cameroon in 1966, says he has spent the past 60 years giving back through , and support to Cameroonians at home and abroad.

“I am retired but not tired…When I am honoured by my own people, it is more important,” Dr MAL Fobi said explaining why he flew from the United States to Cameroon to personally receive the award.

CAMASEJ Kumba Honours National President Jude Viban

The Kumba Chapter of the Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists has honoured the National President Jude Viban in recognition of his steadfast leadership, commitment, and service to the association.

The National was decorated and robed in traditional attire at the close of a two-day workshop on "Improving Journalists' Understanding of Cameroon's Decentralization Process," held in Kumba, CAMASEJ has saidnin a statement.

"This gesture is a powerful expression of appreciation for the leadership, dedication, and sacrifices that continue to strengthen our association and advance the professional development of journalists," the statement said.

While congratulating the National President, CAMASEJ has said the recognition in Kumba is not only a personal honour, "but a proud moment for the entire CAMASEJ family".

"We commend the CAMASEJ Kumba Chapter for this thoughtful gesture, and for reaffirming the importance of leadership, unity, and service within our association," CAMASEJ said.

A commercial dispute between the ’s National Refining Company, SONARA Ltd. and Singaporean‑based multinational commodities company Group Pte. Ltd. over a 20,000-metric-tonne gasoline cargo has moved to the High Court of London, with the substantive issues yet to be determined.

The dispute stems from a contract signed on October 6, 2025, under which was to supply with premium motor spirit (gasoline) meeting Cameroonian specifications but analysis conducted by SONARA laboratory formally established that the product did not conform to the required specifications consequently leading to its rejection.
