US-led Coalition forces, in coordination with Syrian government troops, carried out a joint airdrop operation in Idlib, northwestern Syria, killing an Iraqi ISIS commander and arresting five others.

The raid, which took place at dawn on August 20 in Atmeh, lasted two hours. It is the second joint operation between the Coalition and the Syrian government, following a July raid in al-Bab.

CENTCOM confirmed earlier strikes had killed senior ISIS figures and vowed to continue targeting the group.

Electricity supply in Syria has improved after Azerbaijani gas deliveries began through Turkey.

Energy Minister Mohammed Yosr Bernieh said the rationing program was amended to provide two hours of supply for every four hours of outage. Enab Baladi correspondents reported that supply hours rose to 7–8 daily in Damascus, Rural Damascus, Aleppo, and Daraa.

Officials said Syria currently receives 2.4 million cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas daily, still in the trial pumping phase, with expectations of further increases once full capacity of 3.4 million is reached. The Qatar Fund for Development also pledged support for Syria’s electricity sector.

Israeli forces foiled an attempt by settlers to establish a new settlement inside Syrian territory in the occupied Golan Heights.

According to the Israeli newspaper Maariv, about ten vehicles carrying settlers from the West Bank crossed the border fence near the settlement of Alonei HaBashan before being stopped by the army.

The group, calling itself the “Pioneers of HaBashan,” declared their intention to found a settlement named “Neve HaBashan.” The move sparked criticism inside Israel, with the Golan Regional Council warning of security and societal risks.
