Current Vacancies:Flute/Piccolo

What standard should you be?
To join the RAF as a musician you will need to have a minimum playing standard of ABRSM Grade 8 or equivalent.

Entry is by audition based upon the format of the Grade 8 examination. Entry level is determined at that audition; either Part-Qualified (the minimum standard acceptable), or Qualified (typically at college graduate/diploma standard).


Basic Recruit Training
Basic recruit training takes place over 10 weeks at RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire


Part-Qualified Entry
Salary - £19,304
After Basic Recruit Training, Part-Qualified Entrants will spend approximately 12 weeks at Headquarters Music Services. They will undertake further study on their instrument, learn band drill, and complete written projects prior to final assessment and posting to a band.


Qualified Entry
Salary - £24,666
After Basic Recruit Training, Qualified Entrants will spend approximately 4 weeks at Headquarters Music Services for Familiarization Training before their first posting.


Contract
From 1st April 2015 the minimum contract is for twelve years, but notice to leave can be given, subject to a qualifying period of service.


Eligibility
The upper age limit for applying musicians is 39 years on the day of attestation (the first day on Recruit Training). The lower age limit is 17 ½.

The Danish National Symphony Orchestra invites applications for audition to following position:

Second Solo Flautist

The orchestra is one of the world’s oldest broadcasting symphony orchestras and is part of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation - a leading cultural generator, regionally, nationally and internationally.

The corporation includes 5 ensembles – a symphony orchestra, choirs and a big band and as such is an important ambassador for Danish music and culture abroad.

The Danish Symphony Orchestra continuously collaborates with the world's leading soloists and conductors. Besides the prestigious series of titular conductors, internationally acclaimed conductors such as Fabio Luisi, Manfred Honeck, Yuri Temirkanov and Juanjo Mena have conducted and praised the orchestra. Maestro Herbert Blomstedt and Thomas Dausgaard are both appointed Conductors’ Laureate of the orchestra. From 2017 Maestro Fabio Luisi will be the Principal Conductor.

The DR concert hall is designed by French architect Jean Nouvel with acoustics by Yasuhisa Toyota and has been rated one of the world’s best concert halls by ‘Gramophone’. Most of the orchestra’s concerts are broadcast on Danish Radio and to large regions of the world through the European Broadcasting Union.

The audition will take place on:

Saturday the 5th December 2015 from 10:00 AM (pre round)

Sunday the 6th December 2015 from 10:00 AM (1st & 2th round)

Monday the 7th December 2015 from 03:00 PM - 04:30 PM (Final Round with Orchestra)
