Former BBC East Midlands Today newsman John Hess is no stranger to reporting on election campaigns. But now, for the first time, he is to be a candidate.

The Radcliffe on Trent Branch of the Labour Party have selected John Hess as their candidate for the forthcoming County Council election. John has already been busy and his campaign can be followed on his page "John Hess for Radcliffe on Trent". John will be a familiar face to those who watch East Midlands Today on the BBC.
