BRIDGE STREET BRIDGE - VEHICLE CLOSURE

Following a routine biennial bridge inspection conducted on July 30, 2026, inspectors identified structural conditions that require additional engineering evaluation before the bridge can safely reopen to vehicle traffic.

Effective immediately, the Bridge Street Bridge is closed to all vehicle traffic while engineers complete load capacity calculations and determine any necessary next steps. This precautionary closure is being implemented out of an abundance of caution to protect public safety.

At this time, the bridge remains open and safe for pedestrian traffic. The City will continue to monitor the bridge and will notify the public immediately if that status changes.

We understand this closure may cause inconvenience and appreciate the public's patience as we work to ensure the bridge can be safely returned to service. Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.
